Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an undeniable hit for 2020. ACNH is played by adults just as much as children, and the game is now the second-highest selling Switch title since the console’s launch. The life-simulation game is one that creates inspiration for artists too, as many find ways to creatively cross over the game with other licenses, make fun things in-game, and more. The latest example is a YouTuber who created a teaser trailer for an Animal Crossing: New Horizons TV series.
YouTuber Gabriel Salas recently uploaded a short 41-second video showcasing a vision of a TV show for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Salas didn’t make it alone, as the credits and description show that the storyboarding, animation, directing, music, and more were contributed to by a team of talented individuals, and the result is remarkable.
The video shows Isabelle from Animal Crossing starting her day by cleaning, organizing, and even making herself a cup of coffee. The detail in the room looks beautiful, and very much what fans see in the games. The video ends with Isabelle greeting the viewer, and asking them to join her in this next adventure.
The animation in the video is very impressive. Isabelle looks more detailed than she ever has in any of the Animal Crossing games, with her fur looking similar to the fuzzy appeal of Yoshi in Yoshi’s Woolly World. Meanwhile, the music sounds exactly like something from the games; charming and relaxing. Isabelle’s voice in the end also seems to have been taken straight from the game, as it sounds identical to what can be heard in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, for example.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to sell extremely well for Nintendo, as it sold nearly 15 million copies in Q2 and is now up to 26.04 million since its March release. As popular as the game is, an animated series would likely also be a huge hit. A show with as much detail as the video uploaded by Gabriel Salas and his teammates would seem difficult though, as the quality is just so high. But the idea is one that certainly seems exciting.
The creativity and talent of fans never cease to amaze. For those who love Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a game of the year candidate, it really feels like the possibilities are endless. Whether made in-game or out, fans and artists love to celebrate the magic and charm of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
