With the launch of the PlayStation 5, the Demon’s Souls remake has arrived. The game is mostly a one-to-one remake of the original, with performance and visuals made for next-gen. But one fan seems to have found an easter egg in Demon’s Souls that proves that the developers did indeed add new content to the game, and now it’s up to the players to find out how to access it.
The reviews are in for Demon’s Souls, and fans and critics alike seem to be thoroughly enjoying the PS5 remake of From Software’s action role-playing game. One minor complaint could be that the game doesn’t add anything new; it is basically a remake of the original without fresh content. But there actually happens to be a brand new secret in the game involving a hidden door.
Reddit user u/OrganizedBonfire posted a video on the r/demonssouls page showing that he found a secret passageway in 1-3. The user wondered if anyone else was familiar with the hidden door, and the commenters jumped in to note that it seems new. The door is hidden behind an illusionary wall, something that wasn’t in area 1-3 in the past. The community is passionate about providing tips and walkthroughs for Demon’s Souls to help many players, and the fans have searched through every nook and cranny of the original. This area seems entirely new.
Leading up to the launch of the new Souls games, many fans were disappointed to learn that Demon’s Souls would have no new content, according to dataminers. Many hoped that the 6th Archstone would finally be available to explore, for example, but it seemed as if that wouldn’t be the case. However, new areas or secrets have been placed in the game after all, and now the community is abuzz on what it could be.
Fans will want to know that Bluepoint Games (a team that Sony may be acquiring) handled this remake, one of the foremost remake and remaster developers in the industry. Bluepoint Games seems to have had some freedom in recreating this 2009 classic. The result has now sent the community on a hunt to uncover any possible secrets the team may have added to the game.
