Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 Case Images Surface | Game Rant

The upcoming open-world, action-RPG, Cyberpunk 2077 has seen multiple delays this past year and while fans seem skeptical of its December release, a new report indicates that the game may be ready to release this time for real. As it seems, the case cover of both the PS4 and the Xbox One version of the game was posted on the popular social media platform Reddit, thereby confirming that the game is finally ready to be shipped.

The road leading to the release of one of the most anticipated games of this year. Cyberpunk 2077 has been a troublesome one, with the game receiving three delays this year. Starting off with its originally planned April 16 release, from where it was pushed back to September 17, and then to November 19. After finally going gold on October 5, which seemingly confirmed that the game was completed and ready to be shipped, it unfortunately received another delay on October 27, with CD Projekt explaining why the game wasn’t finished in spite of being ready for mass production. While Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t the first game to be delayed so many times, it’s certainly a difficult one to deal with.

While the images of the PS4 and Xbox One case cover doesn’t seemingly confirm that the game won’t receive another delay, it does reassure many that the game is out there and is getting ready for promotions. The leaked image as mentioned before gives us a clear look at the front and back cover art of the standard version of the game.  Aside from the game’s official description that includes the tagline that “NIGHT CITY CHANGES EVERYBODY,” we also get a look at the game’s minimum file size that is listed as 70GB.

Moreover, like Final Fantasy 7 Remake and The Last Of Us 2 that came before, Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 will also ship on two disks. While CD Projekt Red has already confirmed the goodies that come alongside the standard version of the game, it’s worth mentioning again that it comes with a lot more than what most companies would offer in their title’s premium edition. That includes- World Compendium, Stickers, Post Cards, Game Map, and some digital content that has yet to be revealed.

Cyberpunk 2077 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious games of this year. While the recent delay doesn’t necessarily confirm that the current-gen variants of the game will be as polished as the PC version, it does reassure many that CD Projekt RED is dedicated enough to launch a well-optimized game on day 1, which somehow seems like a distant reality in the games industry today.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out December 10, 2020, for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with a free next-gen upgrade planned for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
