It’s been a week since the launch of Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the fifth expansion for Bungie’s sci-fi looter-shooter. The DLC takes players to Jupiter’s icy moon Europa, with players trying to prevent a plot to destroy the Traveler back on Earth. To help them do this, Destiny 2: Beyond Light introduces a brand new Element, Stasis, and three subclasses to use it.
The new subclasses are the first to be introduced to Destiny 2 since its 2017 release, as is the Element they’re based around. While there are many Elemental Energy weapons in Destiny 2 for the existing Elements, there’s only one for Stasis so far. It’s called Salvation’s Grip, and it’s a Grenade Launcher that can create Stasis crystals. Unlocking Salvation’s Grip isn’t easy, and requires players to go down a long and difficult quest chain.
To even begin the hunt for Salvation’s Grip, players will first have to have completed Destiny 2: Beyond Light‘s campaign. Afterwards, players will be able to pick up the Stasis Prototype quest from The Drifter. For players who are unfamiliar with him, The Drifter can be found in the Tower Annex.
The first step in the quest is to visit Europa and kill Fallen Captains and Servitors. They’re not difficult to find on the moon, and this section will be especially easy for players still completing Variks’ post-story missions. However, players should make sure not to start Variks’ Dark Priestess quest just yet, as it’ll come in handy later.
The next step of the Stasis Prototype quest involves completing an Empire Hunt. These brand-new activities can be acquired from Variks the Loyal for 40 Herealways Pieces. However, if a player hasn’t yet completed the Dark Priestess quest, they can kill two birds with one stone; completing Dark Priestess will also count as completing an Empire Hunt for the Stasis Prototype quest. The next part of the quest is the simplest, and merely requires players to get Stasis kills. This can be done easily in any of Destiny 2‘s Public Events, so long as players can keep throwing out powerful Stasis Supers as quickly as possible.
After completing this step, players will need to find Spider’s associate in Concealed Void in order to retrieve a series of Skiff codes. Concealed Void is the only Lost Sector in the Asterion Abyss. All players need to do is battle their way through and defeat the boss, after which they’ll be able to meet the associate in the next room. With Skiff codes in hand, players should head back to The Drifter in the Tower to begin the final mission, Stealing Stasis. The mission can be a little tough for Guardians under Power Level 1060, but will reward Salvation’s Grip upon completion.
Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
