10 Hidden Details Everyone Missed In Spider-Man Miles Morales

As the game was subject to so many hilarious memes before it even saw release, there’s no denying that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a massive event. And the behemoth release seems to be supported by the sheer amount of stuff still yet to be uncovered.

Most of our questions have been answered with the game’s release and playing through to the end, and all that’s left now is to uncover all of the secret little details, of which there seems to be thousands.

10 Drivers React To Spidey Jumping On Cars

One of the best things about Spider-Man: Miles Morales is how interactive the whole world is, and that includes the NPCs. Even when driving, if Miles lands on a civilian’s car, they’ll scream at him from the driver’s seat. Some will be angry, some will be scared, and some will be hilariously sarcastic. One driver even screamed, “Ever think about geating your own spider-mobile? I know a guy.”

9 Two Different Types Of Dialogue

This is unprecedented in video-games and the developers should be commended for this eye to detail. Nadji Jeter, who voices Miles, recorded each line of dialogue twice. One type of dialogue for when he’s stationary, and another for when he’s swinging/running.

It makes perfect sense, because if somebody is running, they aren’t going to be speaking in the same manner as if they were sitting down. When miles is swinging, he’s almost shouting.

8 Headphones In The Mall

With music being one of the things we love about the game, as the selection perfectly captures the mood of the game and the contributions from Jayden Smith are surprisingly great, It was clearly important to the developers that they express how passionate about music Miles is. The exact same headphones that he can be seen wearing throughout the game also appear on a billboard inside the shopping mall where Miles rides on Rhino’s back.

7 Suit Ripples When Falling

Most of the suits might be skin tight, but many of the outfits worn by Miles expertly show off how great the effects can be on the PlayStation 5. When miles falls from a building or glides through a street, his suit can be seen rippling caused by the wind. It’s one of the subtle, but at the same time very vast, differences between Miles Morales and the first Spider-Man game.

6 The Flocks Of birds

Invisibility is an amazing addition to the game series, but it wasn’t too surprising, as the ability is one of the things we learned from the trailer. However, when players switch on the invisibility there are some exciting and fun things to discover. When Miles approaches a flock of birds, they all fly away, but if he does the same thing when he’s invisible, the birds don’t bat an eye-lid.

5 Faceplanting

Another great thing about Spider-Man: Miles Morales is it’s endless amount of tricks, so many tricks that the character almost looks smug when performing them, even with his mask on. However, even Tony Hawk doesn’t land every vert trick. If players hold the trick button while in mid air but don’t swing, Miles Morales will face plant on the ground below him, but not before looking cool as hell.

4 Enemies Are Webbed To Walls Before They Fall To Their Death

Spider-Man is not a murderer, but he has been seen drop-kicking henchmen off buildings on so many occasions that his death count could add up to rival that of Nathan Drake’s. But when the enemies get thrown off the skyscrapers, falling to their demise, a web catches them and sticks them to the closest wall.

This might be a great way of letting people know Miles is no killer, but if the enemies don’t die from falling, they’ll die from being knocked so hard against the wall. And if that doesn’t kill them, then the NY cold definitely will.

3 Social Media Following Increases Over Time

Social media isn’t exactly a new addition to the series, as it was also in the first Spider-Man game, but in Miles Morales it is used much more effectively and includes some hidden details. At the beginning of the game, players start out with just a few hundred followers, which can be seen in the top left hand corner, but as players progress, they’ll see their follower count grow exponentially.

2 NPCs In The Park When Snowing

Being one of the best games based in New York, it’d be a waste of an open world not to make the best possible use out of all of its locations. As a dusting of snow has settled all over New York in the dead of winter, there’s no more snow built up than in the park. If players visit the park, they can find all sorts of hidden details, including kids making snow angels, somebody practicing ice-skating, and others playing ice hockey.

1 Black Lives Matter Mural

Morales is from a diverse family, which is one of the things that you need to know about Miles, and that’s why it’s perfect that a huge, colorful Black Lives Matter mural can be found on the map. Though it would have been a great addition to any game of any genre, and with a protagonist of any ethnicity, there isn’t a better game to have it featured in. With all the negativity and racism in the world at the minute, it’s great to see something like this in a child friendly game that features a black protagonist.
