Bright Memory just might be one of the most controversial Xbox Series X launch titles, as it features an incredibly short time to beat and is in general a sub-par experience when compared to other titles on the new console. While this may be true for most players, gamerscore hunters will find themselves loving the game, as all the trophies can be obtained within an hour of two of playing.
The story of Bright Memory follows Shelia through a short adventure about 30 minutes in length. While most of the achivements here are pretty straight forward, the Too Damn Busy secret achievement is throwing some fans off. Even looking up the objective, which simply states “Snuff out a candle” doesn’t give much to go off of.
In this case, Bright Memory‘s extremely short story works in players’ favor, as the candle that must be snuffed out is found towards the end of the game. Players that missed it won’t need to spend too much time getting back to the end of the game again, and getting the achievement is very easy for players that know where to look.
In one of the last rooms of the game, players will find themselves turning a lever to create a bridge. The story requires players to simply cross the bridge, but sitting just to the left of the bridge is a group of red candles. In order to get the secret achievement, players need to shoot at the candles so that its flames are completely extinguished.
For reference, this should be done before the portal spawns below and starts summoning out enemies. Once the player knows what to do and where to look, completing this achievement is a piece of cake, but fans would be forgiven for not piecing this together from the title of the achievement alone. Bright Memory is a very fast paced experience that seems like it ends before it even begins, so most players aren’t spending time shooting out candles and the like. Regardless, the game’s short run time makes getting all of its achievements quickly a piece of cake, and Bright Memory‘s $8 price tag is affordable at that.
Other Bright Memory achievements will have the player going through the game multiple times, so there’s no need to fret about missing the candles on a first playthrough. They can also be found at other places throughout the game, so as long as players are keeping an eye out for them completing this achievement shouldn’t be a problem.
Bright Memory is available now on Mobile, PC, and Xbox Series X.
