Cyberpunk 2077 Will Share PlayStation Gameplay Footage Soon

CD Projekt Red’s first-person RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will be featuring new PlayStation footage soon, according to the developer.

No doubt one of the most hotly-anticipated games of the year, Cyberpunk 2077 appears to be nearing the finish line. Originally slated for release in April, the Witcher 3 developer’s next title saw multiple delays. Its most recent delay came just a few weeks before its November 19 release date, causing a stir. Many fans expressed their disappointment at the third pushback, as some folks had even taken vacation time to play Cyberpunk 2077, expecting there would be no further delays.

Cyberpunk 2077 has since gone gold, meaning it is ready to ship. As the game approaches what fans hope to be its final release date, CD Projekt Red is showing off console gameplay for the new systems and their predecessors. Most of the footage shown to date came from PC builds, leaving console players eager for a look at how the game will perform. A special episode of Night City Wire aired yesterday, showing off gameplay on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Fans planning to explore Night City on the PS4 or PS5 will soon have their turn. In a press release announcing the Xbox-focused Night City Wire episode, CD Projekt Red indicated that a similar episode focusing on PlayStation is on deck. However, the episode does not have a release date yet. CDPR indicated that one would be communicated through the game’s official channels, so fans will want to keep an eye on Cyberpunk 2077‘s official Twitter and Twitch accounts in the near future.

For an idea of what to expect, fans can check out the Xbox episode of Night City Wire. The video follows the player character, V, through various parts of Night City during a quest. The footage alternates between Xbox One X and Xbox Series X footage of Cyberpunk 2077, highlighting some of the key differences. As expected, there’s a difference in graphical fidelity between the systems, as the Series X has higher quality visuals and maintains a consistent, smooth framerate throughout the video.

The Night City sprawl is just a few weeks away at this point. While anticipation is high, there are some things to look out for. Much like console scalpers, some online entities are trying to take advantage of the hype. For example, fake Cyberpunk ads have surfaced on Facebook that will steal user data.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set for release on December 10 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions to follow.
