Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 10 Items Nintendo Should Bring Back From Previous Games

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been one of the shining lights at the end of the increasing pandemic tunnel. The sad part about it, however, has been the lack of furniture items that fans can get their hands on.

Sure, there are a lot of new furniture items that fans of the series have come to love, but many beloved pieces from the older games have yet to be seen. Some players have brought it to Nintendo’s attention, but nothing has come of it. Which items from older Animal Crossing games deserve a place in New Horizons?

10 Cabin Set

The Cabin set has been a favorite for fans across the entirety of the Animal Crossing series. In New Horizons, the Cabin set was changed to the Log set. It wasn’t long after that that fans realized a few items were missing, including the clock, dresser, and bookcase.

It’s unclear if Nintendo will ever add the rest of the set into the game, but at least fans have access to part of it to fill the void. If Nintendo does decide to add the rest of the set, maybe players will be able to feel cozy once again.

9 Sleek Set

The Sleek set had a universal appeal to it. Its design was nice. It had style. And, naturally, it didn’t appear in New Horizons. Instead of getting items from the Sleek set, gamers received the Diner set instead. While somewhat similar, it doesn’t quite scratch the same itch.

Gone are the days of having a home filled with versatile furniture and sleek designs. The Sleek set was exclusive to New Leaf and it appears that is where it shall remain for anyone who wants it.

8 Rococo Set

The Rococo set was another that was exclusive to New Leaf, but it managed to stay in the hearts of fans everywhere. This magnificent furniture set may not be a single item, but it is worth mentioning since it hasn’t appeared in New Horizons.

The range of furniture may be decent in the newest game, but some Victorian style pieces would not hurt. Nintendo needs to work on making more diverse furniture sets in upcoming updates if it hopes to keep fans engaged.

7 Mangos

Mangos are no longer in Animal Crossing. Last seen in New Leaf, the fruit disappeared when New Horizons came along. Players expected this delectable fruit to appear since New Horizons features tropical islands. After all, players originally got mangos from the tropical island in New Leaf.

Maybe Nintendo will bring these fruits back in future updates since previous games had much more than New Horizons currently has. Ultimately, only time will tell if that proves to be the case.

6 Bananas

Speaking of fruit, where are all the bananas on these tropical islands? This fruit went the way of the mango and got booted off the island. Nintendo really needs to add more fruits into New Horizons because the older games included grapes, durians, lemons, and more.

Future updates could change things, but Nintendo hasn’t been open to adding in these long lost fruits of labor. Having these fruits return would certainly make everyone’s islands more colorful than they already are.

5 Exotic Set

The Exotic set, much like the Rococo set, was a diverse collection of furniture that appeared throughout the Animal Crossing series. Every game has featured the Exotic set except for one, New Horizons.

It isn’t clear what made Nintendo get rid of so many good furniture items, but the company has plenty of options to choose from if it ever decides to bring a few of them back. Perhaps the Exotic set will grace the homes of players in the future once again.

4 Alpine Set

Nintendo sure has a problem with some of their old furniture designs. Another set of items that seemingly went missing from New Horizons is the Alpine set. This set was another fan favorite that seems to have been removed from the newest game except for one item, the serving tray.

Players can still get one in the game, but it is not the Alpine set’s variant. For those who do not remember this set, it included a bed, chair, closet, dresser, kitchen cart, lamp, two tables, a sofa, and a shelf.

3 Princess Set

The Princess set was a cute and elegant set of furniture that first appeared in City Folk. After that, it found its way into New Leaf. After that, it got taken away and hasn’t appeared in New Horizons. This set was another fan-favorite with multiple items that are sorely missed.

Players tried hard to collect every item in the set so it is sad that it has gone missing. The Mermaid set offers a similar look, but it doesn’t quite fill the void of the missing Princess set. Maybe Nintendo can bring it back and make it look even better than before.

2 Pave Set

Simple and elegant, dreamy, and frilly; the Pave set was a masterpiece designed for those players who love the idea of doilies on everything. This lovely set stood out to users longing for a simpler time and home.

Some might even be using the Pave set today if Nintendo hadn’t taken it away. The Pave set arrived in City Folk and stuck around for New Leaf, and it was another set that players tried to collect. Maybe it will grace player homes in the future, but for now, it is gone.

1 Froggy Chair

The Froggy chair is probably the most loved item in all of the Animal Crossing games. It started off in the first game and was in every game until New Horizons. This item grew so popular that it even became a meme with its own page.

This chair has a life beyond any normal piece of furniture and stands out amongst everything else that players can get. It was a real shock when Nintendo didn’t include this item in New Horizons and players have been asking for it ever since the game’s release.
