Capcom’s Game Release Plans for the Next Four Years Leaked By Hackers

After the recent ransomware attack on Japanese gaming company Capcom, the company’s scheduled projects for the next four years have been leaked online. While no customer information was obtained in the hack, the hackers were able to secure 1TB of data. The hackers leaked Capcom staff personal information, source code, and a list of game titles in the works.

If the leak is legitimate, the company has a huge line up of games for release in the future. While these leaks always have to be taken lightly, especially now that Capcom can change plans due to the leak, there are still a lot of exciting games on the list.

According to the document the following games are in the making:

  • Resident Evil Outrage – Q4 2021
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 – Q2 2022
  • Street Fighter 6 – Q3 2022
  • Rockman (Mega Man in English) Match – Q3 2022
  • Resident Evil 4 Remake – Q4 2022
  • Onimusha New Work – Q4 2022
  • Monster Hunter 6 – Q2 2023
  • Biohazard Apocalypse – Q3 2023
  • Super Street Fighter 6 – Q4 2023
  • Final Fight Remake – Q2 2024
  • Power Stone Remake – Q3 2024
  • Ultra Street Fighter 6 – Q4 2024
  • Resident Evil Hank – Q4 2024

According to the document, Resident Evil enthusiasts will have a new game to look forward to each year from 2021 – 2024. It was recently leaked that matchmaking is in the works for Resident Evil 8, so perhaps that is what “Resident Evil Outrage” is. Resident Evil 4, a fan favorite, is potentially getting a remake in 2022. Resident Evil 4 is often named one of the best video games after winning multiple Game of the Year awards in 2005. Other projects shown on the document include “Biohazard Apocalypse” and “Resident Evil Hank.” With Resident Evil being Capcom’s flagship franchise, it is no surprise that they would have multiple games expected to release in the future.

The leak also revealed a potential sequel to Dragon’s Dogma. The first Dragon’s Dogma was released in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360, and since its release many fans have questioned a sequel to the hack and slash game. The director of Dragon’s Dogma, Hideaki Itsuno, mentioned the possibility of a Dragon’s Dogma 2 as far back as 2012, so it is possible that a sequel to the cult classic may be released in the future.

Another win for Capcom fans, is that the next installment to the Monster Hunter franchise appears to be slated for 2023. The most recent release in the series, Monster Hunter: World became Capcom’s best selling game in September 2020. While not guaranteed, it does seem likely that Capcom would have a new Monster Hunter in the making.

While none of this should be taken as solid confirmation, it’s nonetheless interesting to see Capcom’s potential plans for the future.
