Persona 5 Scramble English Version Appears on Game Retail Sites

Several Asian retail sites are listing the English version of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, possibly hinting at an announcement of the game finally heading west, and possibly sooner than expected.

Some store listings indicate that the English version of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers will launch at the tale end of February next year on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

The discovery comes weeks after a financial report by Koei Tecmo had no mention of Persona 5: Scramble on the company’s listing, leading to some fans believing an English version was in dire straights or not being worked on at the moment. The musou-style game initially released in Japan this past February with a State-side release still to come. With no news of the English version being developed for quite some time, many fans felt that it would not happen.

The speculation was fueled by Atlus’s release of Persona Q2 for the 3DS, which did not receive an English-voiced version when it was released in 2018, instead focusing on English subtitles for those who were looking to play the latest adventure of the Phantom Thieves. If the listings turn out to be accurate, fans will only have to wait a few months before hearing English voice actors Erika Harlacher, Max Mittelman, and Cassandra Morris, among others.

Fans eager to play the game have been patiently waiting for details on the release especially since Koei Tecmo announced and set a release date for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity this year during that time. Also on the Nintendo Switch, Age of Calamity launches this Friday with reviews already out for the game, praising the gameplay but outlining some technical hurdles the game currently faces.

Meanwhile Persona 5 Scramble may indeed be the last story-focused game based on the hit PS3/PS4 RPG, with speculation that Persona 6 is currently in development. While rumors of Persona 6 being announced this year have not come to fruition, the launch of the PlayStation 5 is sure to bring all new ways to interact with a new cast in mini-games, unique events, and social links, especially with the PS5’s new DualSense controller.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, an English version is a sure way to satiate fans who are eager to dive into more Persona games, While Atlus has recently ported Persona 4 Golden to PC, a new Persona game heading west is sure to help fill that void, especially on the go with the Nintendo Switch.

Persona 5 Scramble is currently available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan.
