Now that the PlayStation 5 is officially out in Europe, European gamers can start enjoying next-generation PlayStation games on their brand new consoles – or so it seems. According to a number of user reports, Amazon UK accidentally sent out wrong orders, making customers receive incorrect items instead of their new consoles.
The information comes from a number of different Twitter posts in which people who ordered a PlayStation 5 have received completely random items. For instance, some users have posted photos of themselves getting a foot massager inside the delivery box, while others uploaded photos of an air fryer or a Nerf gun. As expected, they were confused to receive such items instead of a PS5, and asked Amazon UK’s official Twitter account for help. Furthermore, other users reported that their console deliveries were tampered with and that they had to ask the delivery driver for direct assistance.
Luckily, Amazon UK picked up on the problem and reassured its customers that everything is going to be looked at, and that the company will do what is necessary to resolve the situation. In a statement provided to Push Square, Amazon UK wrote that customers who have been affected by the incorrect deliveries will have to contact the company’s customer service team for further assistance. Hopefully, customers who received incorrect items instead of a PS5 will be able to receive their consoles without any delivery mistakes, unlike those who had Xbox Series X delivery issues for instance.
The logistics and delivery issues of the PS5 in Europe aren’t the only things to affect customers. Recently, a UK-based retailer cancelled PS5 orders, stating that its website was suffering from traffic issues and that it accidentally allowed new PS5 orders to be placed earlier than the specified time. In return, that made PlayStation fans who were hoping to get a PS5 look elsewhere and hope that they would be lucky enough to secure a console for themselves as soon as possible.
Europeans dealing with console launch issues isn’t native to their countries however. For example, back when the Xbox Series X launched in the US, some customers reported that they had similar delivery issues, even to the point of accusing companies for allegedly stealing the Xbox Series X. Ultimately, as time goes on, the issues should be taken care of, and European customers should be able to receive their PS5 instead of wrong and random items. Considering that the PS5 is a costly investment, the delivery issues should be resolved in a timely fashion.
The PlayStation 5 is available now.
