Genshin Impact: Where To Find Bamboo Shoots | Game Rant

Genshin Impact recently delighted its fans with an expansive new update, offering new playable characters, an extension to the game’s storyline, and various other surprise additions. Version 1.1 of the game became available earlier in November, but given the large nature of the update, Travelers continue to discover new features, like the Bamboo Shoots now growing in the game’s Liyue region.

Travelers have been spending a good deal of time partaking in the game’s Unreconciled Stars event, which started just about as soon as Version 1.1 hit Genshin Impact. As such, subtler discoveries, like new harvestable resources and unusual enemies, have been slower to take the spotlight, and still remain partially shrouded in mystery.

Travelers may have already taken note of the fact that Version 1.1 of Genshin Impact introduced several new recipes to cook, but players who’ve gone further so as to try preparing some of these dishes may find themselves lacking proper ingredients. Some of the new recipes make use of Bamboo Shoots, which prior to the update, didn’t exist in Teyvat, Genshin Impact‘s main continent.

Although the small bulb-like plants aren’t needed to Ascend popular five-star characters like Childe, they do come in handy as unique cooking materials. They can be found growing alongside bamboo stalks in Teyvat’s Liyue region. Presently, Bamboo Shoots seem to grow strictly in the bamboo groves found west/southwest of Qingce Village, and fortunately, there are convenient teleport waypoints at each end of the forest path in question.

Players should simply head to either waypoint and work their ways through the bamboo thickets. Though several Bamboo Shoot spawn points are marked on the map above by small Bamboo Shoot icons, there should be many more throughout the forest path. Travelers are also encouraged to keep an eye out for Liyue Local Specialties like Glaze Lilies and Jueyun Chili; they grow abundantly in the general vicinity of Qingce Village, and can help knock out some laborious Battle Pass Challenges.

Both of the new recipes available for purchase in Liyue, Bamboo Shoot Soup and Triple-Layered Consommé, require Bamboo Shoots to be prepared, so players will need a handful if looking to perfect every Genshin Impact recipe. More practically speaking, these two dishes also offer substantial bonus effects that would benefit any player, so they’d be nice to keep on deck for emergencies. Bamboo Shoot Soup offers a burst of HP healing, along with 30 seconds of HP regeneration, while Triple-Layered Consommé boasts unique Shield strengthening properties.

Travelers should note that although new resources like Bamboo Shoots, Horsetail, and Loach Pearls, currently serve very limited purposes, they will probably gain additional uses as the game expands. Future updates may certainly introduce new delicacies that employ Bamboo Shoots, just like future regions may even designate Bamboo Shoots a Local Specialty like Liyue’s Jueyun Chili.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
