Bugsnax is a creature collection game, similar to Pokemon. But in highly-rated PS5 Launch title, players collect adorable snack-themed bugs, like popcorn ticks, cinnamon-bun snails, and a moth-like cheddar snack called the Cheepoof.
This cheesy puff critter is a flying bug. These bugs never land on the ground, so players will have to get creative to catch one. It appears in the Scorched Gorge where players can also find the Poptick in Bugsnax, and only between 6 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon. Look to left of the entrance to Scorched Gorge and there should be some of these cheddar moths around the immediate area.
Although these poofy friends sound like one of the greatest Bugsnax memes, one of the other types of Cheepoofs are even more meme-like. The Flamin’ Cheepoof is a hilarious ode to the internet’s favorite spicy snack. And don’t forget the White Cheepoof, which is a moth version of white cheddar puff snacks.
During the day in Bugsnax‘s Scorched Gorge, players can find a flying Cheepoof. Use the LaunchPad to send a Snak Trap into the air, trigger it, and then collect the trap before the Cheepoof escapes. The Launch Pad and Snak Trap combo can lock onto a target if the player’s aim at a specific Bugsnak. They will know they have done it correctly if the launch trajectory is blue instead of orange.
White Cheepoof are caught in the same exact way that regular Cheepoof are caught. The only difference between the Cheepoof and the White Cheepoof is what time of day players can find them. Look for the white version at night, between 6PM and 4PM in Scorched Gorge. Players will want to make sure to grab both if they are looking to collect the Bugsnax trophy for catching all of the bugs.
Unlike the other two Cheepoofs, the Flamin’ version is found in Boiling Bay at any time of the day. However, it can’t be caught like the other two, since this moth is literally on fire.
First, use the Trip Shot to put a trip wire in the path of the Flamin’ Cheepoof, which will knock it to the ground. Once the moth is on the ground, lure a Paletoss Grande over by getting its attention. Make sure the grounded moth is between the player and the Paletoss Grande so that the popsicle Bugsnak crashes right into the moth to put out its flames.
Once the moth is no longer on fire, players can scoop it up with the Bug Net. Make sure to be careful of the Paletoss since it may still be upset and charge again. Then to celebrate, snack on some real-life Bugsnax-like Flamin’ Hot cheese puffs.
Bugsnax is available for PC, PS4, and PS5.
