Nuketown ’84 is supposed to be added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s multiplayer on November 24, but a Reddit user found a way into a match being played on the Nuketown ’84 map ahead of its release date. While it is common for info to leak about upcoming releases, having a random person spawn into a match on a map that hasn’t released yet seems unusual. The footage was quickly scrubbed from official channels, but folks who saved the video have kept it online. Not much of the map is shown in the ripped footage, but it is a pretty safe bet that Nuketown will probably be a fan favorite on the map tier list.
The short video showing off Nuketown ’84 was taken down from YouTube with a copyright notice from Activision. Keeping new content out of the public eye is a bigger challenge than ever, with leaks popping up all the time for large AAA releases. A huge leak out of Capcom has revealed years of potential production plans, ruining the surprise its marketing team might have hoped to capitalize on.
While there are fans who like to know what is going on and have all the details about upcoming games, there are others who genuinely enjoy being blindsided by a new game or mode. Fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War won’t be blindsided by the upcoming balance patch for Black Ops Cold War. As the game experiences some growing pains, patches look to improve the experience as new content like Nuketown ’84 is ushered in.
