Cyberpunk 2077 Updates PC Requirements | Game Rant

With Cyberpunk 2077 slated to hit shelves early next month, fans are beginning to question just how good their hardware will have to be to run CD Projekt Red‘s upcoming sci-fi epic. Prior to today, the team had only posted a basic set of specifications for PC players preparing themselves for what looks to be one of this year’s most technologically demanding experiences.

However, CD Projekt Red has now corrected that, taking to Twitter earlier to unveil more specific PC specifications and the requirements need to utilize ray-tracing. Now players looking to enjoy the game in 1080p, 1440p, or 4K know exactly how capable their hardware should be to experience Cyberpunk 2077 as intended.

The bottom end of the spectrum will see players requiring a GTX 780 or Radeon RX 470 graphics card with a minimum of 3GB of VRAM, 8GB of memory, and either an Intel Core i5-3570k or AMD FX-8310 processor. That will enable users to play the game at a low preset at 1080p. Meanwhile, players looking to stick at 1080p at a high preset will want to be boasting a GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 950 with 6GB of VRAM, 12GB of memory, and either an Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200GB processor. Players sticking at the same resolution who want to incorporate ray-tracing into their adventures in Night City will need a little more power. They’ll need a better graphics card, with the minimum being an RTX 2060, as well as 16 GB of memory.

Those bumping Cyberpunk 2077 up to its higher resolutions will also need to be packing a little more power. Playing the game at 1440p will also require an RTX 2060 (or a Radeon RX 5700), while incorporating ray-tracing at the resolution will necessitate upgrading to an RTX 3070 and an Intel Core i7-6700 or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600.

As expected, 4K is the most demanding of the lot, with players jumping into the game without ray-tracing needing an RTX 2080 or Radeon RX 6800 graphics card with 8GB of VRAM alongside 16 GB of memory. Adding ray-tracing on top of that will require upgrading to some of the best tech on the market, with players needing an RTX 3080 with 10GB of VRAM.

Those requesting CD Projekt Red be more clear about exactly what tech is required to jump into Cyberpunk 2077 are sure to be happy with the studio’s comprehensive new table of requirements. If the specifications show anything, it’s that the game is sure to be a technical powerhouse when it eventually launches next month, especially when factoring in its advanced raytracing.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on December 10 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series versions to follow.
