Far Cry 6 Director Points Out Irritating Issue About PS5 DualSense Controllers

The next-generation of video game consoles has arrived, and with it comes exciting new exclusive games, the rush to try to find a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, and even new controllers. As exciting as all of this is, Ted Timmons, the director of Far Cry 6, seems to have found something rather irritating about the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller.

For quite some time, many have considered the Xbox Elite controller to be the best for modern gaming, but the PS5 DualSense is making its case for this new generation of gaming. But one bothersome issue has been pointed out online by Ted Timmons and others, the “SONY” branding logo is off-center on the bottom of the controller.

Timmons provided an image of his controller on a Twitter post, showing that the logo doesn’t align with the charging port on the bottom. Those who have been lucky enough to snag a PS5 can see if their controller has the same issue, but apparently, there are some who have noticed the logo being perfectly centered, and others who see that the Sony branding is even further off-base than the 1mm off of Timmons’.

Timmons’ tweet has taken off, with some commenters noting that they have the same issue with their controller. Many waltz right by the logo issue, however, simply asking Timmons questions about Far Cry 6 (which may release in March), and perhaps how he may take advantage of the DualSense controller options. Timmons and his team will likely get over the branding issue on the controller quickly to focus on the final few months of development for Far Cry 6.

Add a logo being off-center to the list of problems for the PS5 at launch, as for some people nothing could be more infuriating than a nonsymmetrical design. In all seriousness, although the branding being off may be noticeable, it’s not as big of a deal as other reported issues. Many gamers are thrilled to have found their PS5, and are enjoying it thoroughly. Still, Sony CEO Jim Ryan has already come out to say that he wouldn’t ever recommend launching a console during a pandemic, as it has not been an easy process, to say the least.

The PS5 DualSense controller is a feature-rich peripheral, including its much-praised haptic feedback abilities. But even with all the hype and information leading up the launch, there are still secrets to the DualSense controller that are being discovered. As far as the logo being off-center, that will likely be fixed on future manufacturing runs. Right now, the main focus has been to simply get consoles out the door and into the hands of consumers.
