Spider-Man: Every Spidey Suit From The Movies, Ranked From Worst To Best

Spider-Man is one of the many premiere characters in Marvel comics. Relatable to a fault and having one of the most unique power capabilities of any superhero, Spider-Man has consistently remained a central aspect of the public subconscious. Whether it’s by comic books or forms of media, there will always be a place for the Web-Crawler. This is especially true with the films, as there have been many different actors to play the character over the years, each with their own suits.

From the worst to best, here are all of the Spider-Man suits ranked. As there are multiple suits in some films, they will be judged accordingly within their sections.

8 Television Films Suit

Before Spider-Man was well-recognized on the big screen, the character made his technical first appearance in the medium through television. The suits were worn by Nicholas Hammond who portrayed the character in television around 1977.

The suits worn by the character had the general design from the comics done correctly. However, certain elements such as the lenses, gloves, and boots have not aged well. The outfit does not look nearly as good as the modern interpretations that came afterward.

7 The Amazing Spider-Man Suit

When the Spider-Man franchise was first rebooted, there were many bold changes that were established. One was having Peter’s first love, Gwen Stacy, be the main focal point. Another was the unique design of the classic suit, which had become popular with fans.

Although The Amazing Spider-Man should be commended for doing something far different to what the character was familiar with, the suit just doesn’t hold the wow factor that many other outfits from before or after have. The suit’s solitary appearance in one film also solidified it as not being especially striking.

6 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit

This suit shows the development of Andrew Garfield’s character. The Amazing Spider-Man 2′s suit is incredibly well-made with big eyes and a comic accurate design, arguably more-so than Sam Raimi’s interpretation.

However, there are a couple of things that hold it back. One is the color of the suit, which is far duller than the outfits that came before and after this interpretation. The other is the spider logo that has bottom legs that are far longer than others, making it seem a little uneven.

5 Avengers: Infinity War & Endgame Suit

Ever since Spider-Man’s appearance in Captain America: Civil War, fans have been excited to see what Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was gonna go through next. When Infinity War and later Endgame hit the movie theatres, people were not only receiving more Spider-Man, they would be also getting an absolutely fantastic suit.

Originally only teased in Homecoming, the Iron Spider suit is an incredibly well-made iron suit that helped mix the classic with the new. The only reason why it isn’t higher on the list is due to it not being as iconic as some other variants.

4 Spider-Man: Homecoming & Civil War Suit

Originally introduced during Captain America: Civil War, these were the outfits that helped solidify Spider-Man’s place in Marvel’s Studios. With his homemade design, this cobbled up outfit really illustrates Peter Parker’s genius from the goggles to his web-shooters.

With the Tony Stark outfit, it really does look like the classic suit from the comics brought to life in film. It also includes the modern design philosophy that Marvel Studios are known for.

3 Spider-Man: Far From Home Suit

The most recent Spider-Man suits to come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, these are also easily one of the best in any Spider-Man film. For starters, the red and black aesthetic is supposed to be a reference to Steve Ditko’s original design back when Spider-Man was first introduced to the world.

Not only that, but the stealth suit that is worn by Peter Parker seems to be heavily inspired by the suits worn by Spider-Man Noir. Overall, both of these suits help to illustrate the development of Peter Parker and how he is slowly becoming his own type of superhero with his own legacy.

2 Into The Spider-Verse Suits

An animated suit, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘s outfit is also one of the best. For Peter Parker, the suit is unbelievably classic, harkening back to classic works like Todd McFarlane and John Romita Sr.’s work on the character.

The art style allowed for the suits of the other Spider-Men to come to life, as they managed to be dynamic and also look like they are from another universe. Miles Morales’ suit, in particular, is unique to the character thanks to the spray paint look of it. A lot of thought was put into the designs of the film.

1 Spider-Man Trilogy Suit

When Spider-Man was first shown in theatres back in the early 2000s, he caused a storm that created a trilogy of some of the best superhero films ever made. Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man also helped establish comic book movies as mainstream blockbusters, building on the success of X-Men.

The costumes worn by Tobey Maguire are nothing short of legendary. Although one of the earliest versions seen in a film, everything was designed in a way to make this take of the character incredibly recognizable. While the black suit is really just a recolor, it really illustrates the suit’s strong design.
