Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – How to Unlock Terrako

Many players of the new Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity game instantly wanted the tiny Guardian Terrako unlocked for themselves. He’s small, cute, and fierce. Players learn about its name later on, and thankfully, players can unlock it. Unfortunately, the process is a long and difficult one.

Terrako is small version of the bigger Guardians that players met in Breath of the Wild. It’s egg-shaped, blue and glowy, and is one of the many unlockable characters in the game, like Calamity Ganon and the Great Fairies. Although Terrako is damaged when Link first meets it, a few parts later, it’s a fighting machine that does a lot of damage. Turns out that players have to do a lot more than repairs to get this little guy on their team; the checklist for Terrako is dauntingly long.

In order to get started, players will first have to beat the main campaign of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Thankfully, Nintendo recently released a patch in order to fix some of the worst Age of Calamity bugs, making progressing through the game a little easier. It will take players around 30 hours to complete the whole story, but there are plenty more post-game quests to keep Link busy in Hyrule.

Once is complete, players can unlock the Great Fairies and are able to re-enter the world. A whole new set of quests will now be available, many of them will be Terrako-themed. Players can pick them out by looking for the tiny Terrako icons next to the quest. Players will need to complete each of these quests, collecting Terrako parts along the way.

After those are complete, players will most likely not have anywhere near enough Terrako parts to complete the second part of this mission: 50 Terrako parts are needed to get this little guy back in working order. The Calamity in Hyrule and time travel was apparently very rough on the tiny Guardian. Thankfully, the Sheikah Sensor will highlight other quests that players can complete to get more of these parts. Players can unlock the Sheikah Sensor all the way back in Chapter 2; highlight the quest with the Sensor and it will display where to get more materials for that quest.

Collecting all 50 Terrako parts will take a lot of time and effort, but it will all be worth it. After all 50 are gathered, players can complete the Terrako’s Return quest in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity to finally unlock the most adorable little egg-shaped Guardian in Zelda history.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is available for Nintendo Switch.
