Pokemon Fan Recreates Original Pokemon Sprites | Game Rant

It’s always interesting to see what the Pokemon fan community is up to as a whole. Whether it’s spending many hours hunting for shinies or conducting business by selling Pokemon cards for high amounts of money, fans of the franchise are always occupied with one thing or another. In a recent turn of events, one fan decided to remaster all Generation 1 Pokemon from Pokemon Red and Blue, giving them new life by recreating them from scratch.

Reddit user Red_O_Zone posted artwork of all Generation 1 Pokemon on the main Pokemon Subreddit page, explaining what was going on. According to the user, they recreated all 151 Pokemon from Pokemon Red and Blue and recolored them with their official colors. One important detail worth noting is that all of the Pokemon from the first generation have been recreated pixel for pixel and that it took the user two months of “non-stop work.” Considering that each pixel was recreated as accurately as possible and colored in, saying that the project is impressive would be an understatement.

If the rumors do turn out to be true and/or Pokemon Red gets a remaster of some sort in the future, then it will be really interesting to see how the sprites will change, effectively falling in line with the Reddit user’s project in terms of accuracy and detail. As of now though, no announcements regarding the game have been made.
