For the past week, Insomniac Games has frequently updated Spider-Man: Miles Morales, making improvements, adding new features, and overall performing general bug fixes. Including this latest patch, the developer has pushed out three Spider-Man: Miles Morales updates so far. The first two introduced several new features such as weather changing options and Photo Mode improvements. However, they also mistakenly added more bugs to the game.
Thus, the latest Spider-Man: Miles Morales update that Insomniac has released focuses on fixing bugs, along with making some quality of life improvements. The patch doesn’t have much to tackle, and as a result, is the smallest of the three released so far. Insomniac Games refers to it as “Version 1.05” on the PS4 and “Version 1.005” on the PS5 and made it live only a few hours ago.
Here are all the patch notes for the update:
General Fixes & Polish
- Fixed various issues where the screen could go black while changing Time of Day
- Fixed an issue where players could not change Suits in Photo Mode
- Fixed an issue where the weather did not change correctly when selected by the player
- Improved stability
The Time of Day bug and the photo mode bug appeared with the Version 1.02 (PS4) and 1.002 (PS5) update. The weather update was added with Version 1.04 (PS4) and 1.004 (PS5). For those that don’t know anything about the Weather and Time of Day features, they’re only available for those who have reached post-game content. Spider-Man: Miles Morales isn’t very long, so it won’t take much time for anyone who hasn’t already to unlock these features.
As for what each feature does: the Time of Day modifier does exactly what it sounds like. It provides players with four options to choose from: Day, Night, Sunset, and Overcast (Cloudy). As for the weather, it also does what its name implies. However, it doesn’t provide as many options to choose from as Time of Day. Really, players can only pick between a clear day and a snowy day, and if they want it to be snowy, they can choose between “Light Snow” and “Heavy Snow.”
The limitations of the weather options likely stem from the game’s short length. Hopefully, Spider-Man: Miles Morales‘ sequel will be a full game, similar to what Spider-Man 2 will be. That way, it’ll have the ability to be more flexible with its features. Considering Miles Morales‘ success, it’s probably safe to say that a full sequel is guaranteed.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales is on PS4 and PS5.
