Demon’s Souls Player Discovers PS5 Trophy Feature in Hilarious Clip

Bluepoint’s impressive Demon’s Souls remake has been available on the PS5 for two weeks now, and while old school fans have been flying through bosses, a whole new generation of players is experiencing the Souls challenge for the first time. One Demon’s Souls player was clearly proud of their victory against Tower Knight, and they did not notice that the PS5 had recorded their reaction to the moment.

The PlayStation 5’s trophy system is a bit more expansive than previous iterations, offering digital rewards for certain  unlocks and boasting a brand-new trophy ranking system. Another PS5-exclusive trophy feature is the trophy clip feature, which captures the 15 seconds of gameplay leading up to a trophy’s unlock. As it turns out, the clip also records audio, leaving one player embarrassed over the hilarious trophy unlock video that was created.

While the Demon’s Souls trophy list is a game changer due to the various challenges it asks of players, it features some straight-forward trophy goals as well. One of the many trophies related to killing bosses is “Tower Knight’s Trophy,” which was earned by Redditor helloiamjack after defeating the titular massive, armored foe. This was clearly a tough thing to accomplish for helloiamjack, as the player’s long, deafening roar of “yes” can be heard within the final seconds of the trophy clip.

While helloiamjack is likely to be more careful when unlocking the rest of the Demon’s Souls trophy list, it was nice to see the player being a good sport about the hilarious yell. Beyond that, it is hard to blame the player for cheering after their victory, as multiple commenters point out how satisfying it can be to fell a challenging boss in the Souls series. While the clip is certainly hilarious, it is also a good reminder of what makes the Souls series work so well, as this rewarding moment for helloiamjack should be relatable to anyone who got stuck on a tough boss.

While Tower Knight and all other Demon’s Souls bosses can be cheesed, helloiamjack took down the demon legitimately, something that resulted in heavy amounts of praise from commenters. The clip’s original poster clearly did the right thing by sharing the mishap, as they clearly put a smile on the face of many Souls fans.

While the Demon’s Souls remake has been met with a massive amount of love from fans and incredibly positive reviews, it does have a few bugs here and there. With one exploit in particular allowing for 17-minute Demon’s Souls speedruns, there is no shortage of interesting game clips for fans to watch — even if none are quite as funny as this victory screech.

Demon’s Souls is available now exclusively on PS5.
