Last April, developer Ubisoft released the final DLC track for Rocksmith Remastered, after continuously supporting the game for nearly five years. Of course, shortly after Ubisoft released the final track for the remaster, players have wondered what’s next for the franchise. Now, it appears that Ubisoft is planning to undertake a new project for Rocksmith, thanks to a job listing suggesting that either a sequel or a spin-off is in the works.
The job listing in question is for a Guitar and Bass transcriptionist, that is able to transcribe guitar and bass music using proprietary software, analyze songs to identify guitar tunings and associated techniques, and many more. Although this specific listing does not specify a Rocksmith sequel or spin-off, it is obvious that the role will have something to do with the franchise. Interestingly enough, other job listings at Ubisoft looking for a Producer, UI Designer, music analyst, and more have mentioned Rocksmith in their descriptions.
At the moment, Ubisoft still hasn’t made any confirmation that a new project for Rocksmith is currently in the works. However, if there is something under development for Rocksmith, it is most likely for a different game, given that Ubisoft has already stated that last April’s DLC will be the final one for Rocksmith Remastered.
Of course, while it is sad that Rocksmith Remastered will no longer have any more content expansions, fans of the franchise should be excited for whatever Ubisoft is currently planning for the future of Rocksmith. Hopefully, Ubisoft will release a statement soon and reveal whether Riocksmith will be getting a sequel or a spin-off title sometime in the future.
Rocksmith Remastered is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
