Juggernauts are extremely powerful in Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. These massive armor suits and their unrelenting miniguns can become a hassle for any duo, trio, solo, or squad to handle. Call of Duty: Warzone‘s developers added them permanently to the general battle royale experience several in a previous season, and players are wondering why they are still around.
Originally, the Juggernaut was only available in Call of Duty: Warzone’s LTM game mode. As this was fairly successful as a side option, the developer added it to the main game mode and almost immediately received backlash from the community. Call of Duty: Warzone is already a difficult game, and for many, the addition of a Juggernaut makes it almost unwinnable.
Call of Duty: Warzone is no stranger to negative feedback from the community, but this decision has escalated several steps further when compounded with the game’s current problems. Several major content creators like Nickmercs and Cloakzy have left Warzone in favor of Fortnite due to the game’s rampant hackers and imbalanced weapons. With the addition of Juggernauts, the game is only going further away from its original design and causing many players to abandon ship.
Members of the Call of Duty: Warzone Reddit point out that many games of Warzone end with whoever has the Juggernaut suit. Although players are killable, it is a substantially more difficult challenge considering the extra armor involved. The problem is only furthered as Juggernaut players can drive vehicles and maneuver the map with little to no penalties.
The core problem in Call of Duty: Warzone is that winning a match no longer takes skill, in the opinion of much of the community. Players either get lucky enough to find a Juggernaut suit or run a meta build and win. When players add in the hacking problem, Warzone becomes a much different game than it was several months ago.
Many Call of Duty: Warzone players are simply taking it upon themselves to avoid using the Juggernaut. While this is honorable, it is paired with an equal number of players who really do not care and only seek the win. While both sides have their merits, at the end of the day, many players are simply upset that Warzone is in this state after over a year of developer patches and updates.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
