Genshin Impact recently expanded upon its content with the release of Version 1.1, which introduced entirely new story quests, playable characters, and enemies. Although this update even included new in-game events, it didn’t extend the game’s playable territories any further.
That being said, Travelers are already well aware of miHoYo’s plans to eventually enlarge the Teyvat map. Genshin Impact players have been able to approach an inaccessible area, Dragonspine, since the game’s release, for example, not to mention entirely unseen regions like Inazuma, which newer characters like Leonard hail from.
Although the arrival of future regions is still not completely confirmed, Genshin Impact leaks state that players should expect the arrival of Dragonspine in December, and the probable addition of Inazuma in March. On top of this, players can see a new inaccessible in-game area, “Chasm”, on their maps, as of the Version 1.1 update. This makes for at least three new areas that will probably arrive in the near future.
Despite this lineup, players are also aware of the fact that the game will most likely eventually feature a region associated with each of the Elemental Visions. Mondstadt and Liyue are associated with Anemo and Geo, respectively, while incoming region Inazuma is expected to be Electro-aligned, for example. As per Genshin Impact leaker NEP NEP’s recent tweet, a working version of the expanded Teyvat map seems to be making the rounds across Chinese social media. Though initially published with Chinese-language labels, NEP NEP has since conveniently shared a self-translated version of the image, for fans’ convenience.
As the post itself claims, this particular leak is still to be taken with a grain of salt. It simply consists of a rather detailed image, and carries no proof of authenticity; that said, its extensive detail gives fans hope that it’s a legitimate Genshin Impact leak. The leak not only predicts the precise locations of future regions like Sumero, Inazuma, and Snezhnaya, but also details their specific points of interest, and their associated Visions.
While Inazuma, which is rumored to be arriving in March 2021, will apparently be found south of Dragonspine, the Pyro-affiliated Natlan seems to be situated atop a volcano in southwestern Teyvat. Areas like “Dragon Shadow City” and “Ice Plains” will be found in the Snezhnaya area, while Natlan may feature a “Black/Dark Beach,” in contrast to Fontaine’s alleged Waterfall City.
The veracity of these particular Genshin Impact leaks is expected to come to light in the near future, seeing as the game is rapidly being updated. Once any of the areas mentioned in the leak are confirmed to be real, players will be able to more accurately gauge whether this map should be considered reliable at all.
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for Switch.
