Someone Beat Demon’s Souls Without Taking a Single Hit

Ever since the Souls series became a mainstay of modern video games, so to have the seemingly impossible challenge runs certain players set themselves within the game. Whether that’s a particularly daring speedrun, beating Dark Souls 3 on a Guitar Hero controller, or using Donkey Konga bongo drums to conquer the first Dark Souls, it seems the sky’s the limit for the Souls community.

Although the remake has only been out for a few weeks, one particularly talented Demon’s Souls player has already managed to lock in one of these achievements, beating the entire game without taking a single hit. The seemingly impossible feat was accomplished by The Happy Hob on Twitch, streaming a successful no-hit run that lasted almost six hours.

Although there were a number of close calls, including Hob narrowly avoiding a ranged attack during one of the final bosses of the game, the streamer came out on top, besting each of the game’s biggest challenges. It’s undeniably a huge feat, especially considering Demon’s Souls only hit the PlayStation 5 earlier this month. For those wanting to see exactly how Hob manages to carve his way through Boleteria’s biggest and baddest monsters without as much as a scratch, the entire run can be found on his channel. It’s even capped off with a wholesome celebration with Hob and his dog.

For those who’ve never seen Hob’s broadcasts before, he’s an avid Souls streamer and frequently completes no-hit runs for a variety of different games, including the original Demon’s Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Dark Souls 3, Resident Evil 2, and even The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. His biggest achievement, however, has to be his completion of what Hob affectionately refers to as “The God Run,” seeing him conquer Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, and Bloodborne in one go without taking a single hit.

Demon’s Souls remake has been a major success so far, garnering a lot of praise from critics and players alike. Although it’s faithful to its source material, Bluepoint Games has resurrected the game from the ground up, with better visuals, faster loading times, and smoother combat. Seen as the original game was always regarded as a diamond in the rough, the studio has looked to polish the game for modern standards. They did include one original addition, however, with a mysterious locked door popping up in the game. Although it took a while, the Demon’s Souls community uncovered the mystery behind the entryway, finding behind it a set of fan-requested armor.

Demon’s Souls is out now on PlayStation 5.
