Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is Koei Tecmo’s follow-up to 2019’s Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, the 21st main entry in the Atelier series. New trailers for Atelier Ryza 2 haven’t exactly been sparce, but there are still plenty of details that fans don’t yet know about.
Now, fans are getting an extended look at Atelier Ryza 2’s gameplay thanks to a Koei Tecmo live stream. The live stream was almost two hours long, featuring key figures involved with Atelier Ryza 2 like Ryza’s voice actress, the Atelier series character designer, and the producer of the Atelier Ryza series.
The live stream kicked off with a brief trailer, showcasing story details and brief snippets of gameplay. Then, Moe Iori, the official cosplayer for Ryza Stout, kicked off the stream with a panel of other guests. The panel held a basic Q&A, which eventually transitioned into a gameplay showcase around 50 minutes into the live stream. Though previous Atelier Ryza 2 gameplay trailers have shown off the game’s various side activities, this gameplay look focused more on exploration and crafting.
Overall, the gameplay segment of the live stream is about 20 minutes long. While the entire segment is in Japanese, western fans can still get a good look at Atelier Ryza 2’s basic gameplay. Thankfully, it won’t be much longer before western players have their hands on the full release. Atelier Ryza 2 launches on January 26 in the west, with a December release date for those players in Japan. The game will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and PS4 with a free digital upgrade to PS5 for players who plan on getting the console.
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and The Secret Fairy will be released on January 26, 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch.
