World of Warcraft: Shadowlands – How to Complete The Penitent Hunt Quest

There’s a lot to chew on in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, especially with the new Covenants. When it comes to the Venthyr Covenant, one of the best for Shaman healers, players must hunt down souls.

This isn’t too surprising considering what the Venthyr of Revendreth are all about: hunting down sinful souls. Revendreth is the destination for those who were overly prideful and sinful in life, in whatever quality of sin is most appropriate. Several are driven into the Banewood to be hunted for the amusement of this World of Warcraft: Shadowlands faction, and the player is tasked with catching some. This task comes in the form of the Penitent Hunt quest, and here’s a quick guide on how to complete it.

Head to Revendreth. Specifically, find the area called Wanecrypt Hill. Hunt around for a particularly tall Venthyr called the Fearstalker. They will hand out the quest, tasking players with hunting down three souls for siphoning. These three have been weakened by fear, making them vulnerable, which is the Fearstalker’s whole deal. As mentioned, the cowering souls are spread out in the Banewood, so grab one of Shadowlands‘ easily gotten mounts and go exploring. Don’t forget to tell the Fearstalker “Let’s Begin,” that way they’ll join the player avatar on the quest.

The Prideful Souls range fairly far afield. Two of them are at opposite corners of the zone where they might hide. One is Yoshai the Merciless, cowering in an open spot at the bottom left corner of the zone. The other is Cimelord Tiana, up in the top right corner, surrounded by spiders. Finally, Houndmaster Loksey is right at the center of the designated zone. He’s not hard to find, but he’s being guarded by Truulax, a tanky abomination. Bring it down to siphon Loksey of his Anima.

There are a few other quests that can be done at the same time as the Penitent Hunt. Aside from Truulax, there’s no fighting that needs to be done to complete the quest, and the Fearstalker travels with the player, so it’s easy to turn in. Once the Hunt is done, players can turn it in immediately and tackle other things. This mostly includes monster hunts from the Fearstalker and Huntmaster near her. All of these are additional ways to earn Renown, among other rewards, so don’t sleep on them. Completing them alongside the Penitent Hunt will save a lot of time.

That’s it. Check out Revendreth, see if it’s a good fit, and find out why so many players are giving Shadowlands a thumbs up.
