With the hype created by the launch of the Xbox Series X/S still very much alive, many fans have plenty of reason to be excited in the coming months. Although, with the technology still very new to the gaming community, some problems have arisen in regards to the Xbox Series X‘s hardware. Luckily, Microsoft has put out a new update for both the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One that includes quite a lot more than just patch notes.

For how anticipated and desired the consoles are, the Xbox Series X has a number of launch problems. With consoles randomly shutting down, controllers desyncing, and strange noises emitting from the systems, some users have experienced a number of issues. However, starting today, Microsoft is implementing a new console update for both Xbox console generations with a surprising number of new features.

This new Xbox console update includes a number of aesthetic and quality of life features for both console generations. The Xbox Series X/S will be receiving dynamic background themes similar to those on the PS4. In addition to background themes, the Xbox Series X/S will also be receiving icon banners to help users with game organization.

In the past, Xbox implemented a number of UI updates that help game organization, often coming in the form of banners overlaid onto game icons to show if a game in a user’s library is from Xbox Game Pass, to name one example. The new update will show which games are optimized for the Series X/S and which games use Auto HDR.

Although, easily one of the most impressive aspects of this newest update is a new ability featured on Xbox Game Pass. Xbox will now allow users to pre-load games that are coming soon to Xbox Game Pass. This way, once the games are officially released on the streaming service, players will be able to access and play the game the minute the game releases.

These features and more will be featured in the new Xbox console update that will be rolling out shortly. It’s nice to see that Xbox has continued to remain reactive well after the launch of the console and that so many players have actively enjoyed their experiences with the newest console generation. Though, as long as players quit blowing vape smoke into their Xbox Series X’s, the console should last them quite a while.

The Xbox Series X/S is available now.
