Rings are essential in Demon’s Souls. Rings offer great benefits that players just can’t get from anything else in the game. Some rings allow players to carry more while some allow players to deal more damage.
While some of these rings don’t apply to most builds, other builds hinge on getting certain rings to deal the most damage they can. Keep up while we go over how to get some of the best rings in the game and what rings to stay away from.
10 Best: Clever Rat’s Ring
The Clever Rat’s Ring is amazing for many builds. It increases attack power by 50% whenever a player’s health drops below 30%, but it is not easily obtained. In the Tower of Latria, also known as the Prison of Hope, there is a statue. When players enter the area the statue resides, it will open up and begin firing arrows down a long bridge. There are two ways around. Players can either take the long way through the prison or risk getting killed while they roll their way across the bridge. Once the statue is shut down, players can run onto the bridge and retrieve the ring.
9 Worst: Ring Of The Accursed
The Ring of the Accursed could be useful when playing online with a friend. This ring makes the wearer more of a priority for enemies. In most cases, however, this ring would not be used. To obtain this ring, players need to travel to where Yuria is being held captive. To get to this area, two rings need to be obtained. The first ring is the Ring of Iron Keys. Once players get that key, they can rescue Biorr and kill the Fat Official in the cells to get the Bloody Iron Key. The Bloody Iron Key is used to open the alleyway behind the fountain in the Tower Knight Archstone. Following this pathway will lead to where the ring is.
8 Best: Eternal Warrior’s Ring
Perhaps the hardest ring to obtain in Demon’s Souls is the Eternal Warrior’s Ring. Once players gain access to the cathedral where Old King Doran resides, either by killing or saving Ostrava, they will need to kill Doran. This is much easier said than done. Once players cut down 25% of his health, Doran will give players Demonbrandt. After that, players need to continue the fight and kill Doran to get the ring. He is the toughest NPC in the game and the challenge should not be taken lightly. There are a few methods to defeat him though that many have shared. Once players get the ring, they will realize that it increases their stamina regeneration speed.
7 Worst: Master’s Ring
The Master’s Ring can be useful in some situations but it is better to use the Clever Rat’s Ring. This ring increases the damage done by backstabs and parries by 15% but decreases all other damage. The decrease in damage for most attacks really makes this ring less appealing.
This ring can be found in two areas. First, players can kill Executioner Miralda. She can be found in the Gates of Boletaria with White World Tendency. The other way is to kill the Dragon God boss. The ring can be found in the boss room.
6 Best: Ring Of Great Strength
Sometimes that heavy armor is extremely tempting but players don’t want to put in points to increase their equipment burden. That is where the Ring of Great Strength comes in. This ring increases a player’s equipment burden by 50%. This ring is rather easy to obtain if done correctly. In the Gates of Boletaria are two dragons, the Blue Dragon and Red Dragon. Both of these dragons are resting in the same area, but the Red Dragon will attack. Lure the Red Dragon away by running onto the bridge. The dragon will start breathing fire. Now is the opportunity to run back to the nest and grab up the items. When the dragon returns jump off the ledge to the cliff below.
5 Worst: Ring Of Herculean Strength
Item weight is more noticeable in the remake of Demon’s Souls than the original, but that doesn’t mean players need to watch it closely. Even when maxed out players can still pick up items and have them sent to storage. That is why the Ring of Herculean Strength isn’t necessary. All this ring does is increase item burden. This ring can be retrieved in two ways. Players can either kill Thomas in the Nexus or give him the Jade Hair Ornament. The Jade Hair Ornament can be found in the Gates of Boletaria. On a ledge that juts off of the left tower will be two chains. Players can cut these chains and grab the items that drop at the base of the tower.
4 Best: Regenerator’s Ring
The Regenerator’s Ring is the perfect way to stop players from eating all of their Moon Grass. This ring adds health regeneration at a rate of 4hp/sec. It can also stack with the Adjudicator’s Shield. This ring resides in the Island’s Edge location of the Archstone of the Shadowmen. There are two possible routes to get to it. Players can follow the normal route and when they reach the decaying castle area before the boss room, they can travel along a thin ledge to where the ring is. The other route requires getting to the top of the castle wall where the skeletons are at the beginning of the area. On the far tower, players can roll off the wall and land right where the ring is.
3 Worst: Ronin’s Ring
Along with item burden, players don’t really need to focus on weapon degradation. Each weapon breaks slowly and can easily be repaired by one of the blacksmiths. The Ronin’s Ring doesn’t stop weapon decay, it simply slows it down.
Players who might still be interested in the ring can find it in two spots. They can either kill Scirvir in the Armor Spider Archstone or find it in the slug filled room after the Adjudicator boss fight.
2 Best: Thief Ring
The Thief Ring is great for many reasons. It can help in multiple boss fights and it can help make traversing some areas a breeze. This is because the ring makes it harder for the player to be detected by enemies. This ring is also easy to obtain. In the Gates of Boletaria, Ostrava can be found standing on a ledge. Players will come across an enemy that throws a firebomb at a large group of explosive barrels. Next to this area is a fence. Vault the fence to land on the platform with Ostrava and the ring is right there.
1 Worst: Ring Of Uneven Scales
The Ring of Uneven Scales seems to be a mistake in the game by some. It increases a player’s maximum item burden and decreases their maximum equipment burden. This might be useful for some players who need the extra Moon Grass to stay alive but is mostly unneeded. Players who are interested in getting the ring can get it from Sparkly the Crow. They can be found in the Island’s Edge and require a Gold Coin to get the ring.
