The dominance of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout continues. Developer Mediatonic has just released some updated sales numbers for Fall Guys on PC, and the last-man-standing game has crushed yet another milestone, selling over 11 million PC copies.
Ever since bursting on the scene early this year in August, Fall Guys has been one of the most talked-about and played games of the year, even as the game is only available on two platforms; PC and PS4, Eventually, Fall Guys may come to other platforms, including mobile, Xbox and Switch. But Mediatonic and publisher Devolver Digital must be thrilled with the success of the game so far.
Mediatonic’s party game launched as a PlayStation Plus title, and Fall Guys went on to post massive numbers in terms of player count. In some ways, the title being on PS+ helped catapult the game initially, as countless PlayStation gamers jumped into the fun for free with that PS+ membership. So the game additionally selling 11 million PC copies is impressive. In releasing the numbers with a press release, Mediatonic also noted how “surreal” this year has been for the team.
Along with the big sales numbers and player counts, Mediatonic has seen great things outside of the game with Fall Guys as well, highlighted by million-dollar donations and an ESPN film being made about Fall Guys and TimTheTatMan. Mediatonic has even opened a new studio to focus on support for Fall Guys. 2020 has been an astounding year for the developer, it will be interesting to see what comes next for Fall Guys and the team.
