Weapons. A Souls game wouldn’t be complete without them. Any good Souls game has them scattered everywhere for players to discover and add to their arsenal. Demon’s Souls is one of those games where weapons are necessary for survival, but sometimes finding them isn’t especially easy.
While some weapons can be found laying around, others require a little extra work. Some may be hidden in plain sight, while others are deep in layers of puzzles, hidden in the deepest of corners.
10 Hard: Large Sword Of Moonlight
Anyone who has played a Souls game knows about the Moonlight Greatsword. It has appeared in every Souls game since the original Demon’s Souls on the PS3. Some players may have overlooked the location of this beautiful weapon while traveling through the Swamp of Sorrow.
While traversing the area, players will come across an area filled with slugs. Many people may run in and grab the items and get out. If a player continues down the path and gets on the scaffolding above the entrance of the cave, they will discover a nest of slugs. Hitting this enough times will make it collapse. Return to the area they fell and the Great Sword of Moonlight will be waiting.
9 Easy: Talisman Of God
The Talisman of God is easy to find for players who want to use Faith. The talisman resides in the Island’s Edge location of the Archstone of the Shadowmen.
Players will start off with a skeleton in front of them. Kill it and proceed. There will be multiple skeletons after that, so deal with them and then head to the top of the staircase. This leads to a fog wall. Instead of going in, turn to the right and pick up the item next to the stone wall. That is the talisman.
8 Hard: Rune Sword & Shield
The Rune Sword is found alongside the Run Shield, but they both require some careful footwork to obtain. To find both the weapon and the shield, players will need to go to Upper Latria. This area becomes accessible after killing the Fool’s Idol boss. Once there, travel to the large tower that has the beating heart inside it.
Get to the top of the long curved staircase then stop and turn to the left. Below the ledge is a very small platform with the items. Inch over to the edge and fall towards the ledge, then just hope that the landing sticks.
7 Easy: Hands Of God
The Hands of God are a decent fist weapon for players using a Faith build. They are also pretty easy to get to and can be found in the Smithing Grounds. After defeating the Armor Spider boss, continue through the arena and head to the right. There are multiple miners here, but it is possible to run past them all. Either run past or kill them. At the end of the tunnel is a massive drop.
Head to the right of it and there will be platforms. Keep dropping down on the platforms until the bottom is reached. Once there, follow the tunnel and then turn left to find the Hands Of God guarded by three Rock Worms. Hit them in the head to kill them and grab the item.
6 Hard: Blind
Get ready to put up a fight against an annoying black phantom to obtain this item. For this fight, players will be squaring off against Selen Vinland. She appears in the Swamp of Sorrow near the first fog door. What makes her annoying is her weapon, as she uses Blind.
As this weapon ignores shields, the best method of taking her out is to equip the Graverobber’s Ring and charge in. Make sure to two-hand a weapon because shields are useless and try to get as many hits in as possible. Backing Selen up against a fence is a great strategy. Remember that she can roll in the swamp and also heal. Beating her will grant players her weapon.
5 Easy: Knight Sword
There are a few ways to retrieve the Knight Sword. It can be purchased from the Dregling Merchant for 20,000 souls or from a Red-Eye Knight. If players aren’t up for spending their hard-earned souls or farming Red-Eye Knights, the sword and a shield can be found together in the King’s Tower.
Get to the top of the tower where the Blue Dragon attacks. Be careful and run along the castle wall. Watch out for the Dragon’s fire and the Fat Officials. Follow the route and the Dragon will change positions. At the bottom of the stairs, the sword will be there.
4 Hard: Istarelle
For this weapon, players will need to have pure white world tendency for the Archstone of the Chieftain. While that can be a little tricky, it is worth remembering that players don’t lose world tendency when dying in spirit form. Once that is obtained, head to the depraved chasm.
Near the end of the area, there is a thin ledge with rats on one side and a Giant Depraved One on the other. In the middle of the ledge is a ladder that can be used to reach the upper area. Once up there, players will come across an item guarded by three Giant Depraved Ones. Kill them and claim the weapon.
3 Easy: Kilij
Kilij is another weapon that can be obtained in a few different ways. The first way is by killing Golden Skeletons, but it isn’t guaranteed that they will drop the weapon. A guaranteed way to get the curved sword is by traveling to the Island’s Edge. Follow the same route to get the Talisman of God.
Instead of going to the right of the fog wall, head through it. On the other side of the wall, players will see the Vanguard Demon. In the same area, there is a well with Kilij beside it. Just be careful not to get too close to the Vanguard Demon or it will attack.
2 Hard: Demonbrandt
Demonbrandt is a great weapon, but it is guarded by the toughest NPC in the game, Old King Doran. To get to him, players will either need to complete Ostrava’s storyline or kill him. Once that is accomplished, players will obtain the Mausoleum Key.
Take the key to where the Red-Eye Knight resides in the Gates of Boletaria. To the right of him is where the key can be used. Talk to Doran and he will tell players that they must prove themselves to obtain the sword. Get his health down by 25% and the sword is yours.
1 Easy: Great Club
The Great Club is easy to get to but players only have one chance to get it. In the Smithing Grounds, players will travel to an area where multiple items rest on a platform. This platform has a short bridge leading over to it, which will collapse as soon as a player sets foot on it.
To get across it, simply run straight across and roll at the last second. If a player fails they can travel to the Nexus and come back to try again.
