Gold Bars are a new currency featured in Fortnite Season 5, and players will obtain them fairly often through standard gameplay. However, some fans may not be clear on exactly what they can do with these Gold Bars once they have earned them, as that is never fully detailed in game. To get right to it, Fortnite players that are looking to spend their Gold Bars will need to turn their attention to the myriad of NPCs that are now scattered across the map. In total, there are 40 of these new characters, and a message bubble icon will denote their location on the mini-map when a fan gets near to one. When that icon appears, players should approach and talk to the NPC for a chance to use some Gold.
Indeed, several options will appear at the bottom of the screen when speaking with an NPC in Fortnite Season 5, and one of those options should allow fans to exchange their Gold Bars for a particular good or service. This might be a new weapon, the chance to upgrade an already-obtained gun, or even the ability to hire the character, and exactly what is available varies from NPC to NPC.
