Each time a new month arrives Pokemon GO players usually spend the first few days trying to get a feel for whether the daily Field Research and rewards that are available by spinning Pokestops and completing simple quests have rotated or not. Sometimes the same set of tasks will stick around for up to three months, but luckily, it seems like December’s GO Beyond update is bringing in a whole new list of rewards with some very exciting encounters up for grabs.
As players might expected, the start of the Season of Celebration, combined with the Kalos event and the winter holiday are going to bring some exciting times to the mobile AR game. In addition to the the multiple Timed Research tasks that are available right now in Pokemon GO, players have some great opportunities from the typically sort of boring daily Field Research that is required to keep streaks going and unlock Breakthrough Research every seven days.
As always, players should keep in mind that Field Research is subject to change throughout the month as mini events begin and come to a close. There is already a section below dedicated to the Kalos-region Field Research that will disappear when that event wraps up in less than a week. Don’t be surprised to see another limited time group of tasks show up to take its place shortly after that happens…
Send 3 Gifts to friends – Houndour
Give your buddy 3 treats – Spheal
Earn 5 hearts with your buddy – Growlithe
Catch 3 Fire-type Pokémon – Torchic or Cyndaquil

Win a Level 3 or higher raid – Kabuto or Omanyte
Win 5 raids – Aerodactyl

Make 5 Great Curveball Throws in a row – Spinda
Catch 3 Normal-type Pokémon – Bunnelby
Catch 5 Flying-type Pokémon – Fletchling
Catch 7 Fire-type Pokémon – Litleo
That should be every task that is currently available, but keep an eye out for changes when the Kalos region activities come to a close and the next mini-event arrives during the Season of Celebration.
As trainers continue working through these amazing events and enjoying the early days of the GO Beyond update, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
