Star Wars is one of the biggest and best media franchises in the world. While the franchise is the best known for films, it also consists of animated movies, TV series, books, comics, merchandise, and, of course, video games.
From Star Wars‘ beginning, the franchise spawned numerous games, some better received than others. For the majority of the time, or more precisely, from 1993 to 2013, the games were published under LucasArts, but today Electronic Arts is handling the Star Wars license. The first officially licensed games were made in the ’80s, and till today, Star Wars titles have sold more than 90 million copies. Which are the ten highest selling games?

10 Star Wars: The Old Republic (5 Million)
Though there are no official sources of how many copies the Star Wars: The Old Republic sold, however, there are currently 5 million subscribers. That number was achieved because the game went free to play in 2012. Considering that, it is safe to assume that the number of people who bought the game is somewhere below that figure.
While sales are below that of the highest selling game in the world, Star Wars: The Old Republic nonetheless was a major financial success with EA saying that the game was close to billion dollars in lifetime revenue, thanks to the subscription model as well, as a comic and novels that are based on it.
9 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith (5.58 Million)
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is based on the movie of the same name. Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are controlled by the player through a story that’s more or less similar to that of the movie. However, the game does offer an alternate ending in which Anakin kills Obi-Wan. Additionally, there are also 12 minutes of cutscenes from the movie.
With the push from the success of the movie the game managed to perform quite well in terms of sales, with 1.24 million copies sold for Xbox and 3.32 for PlayStation 2, equalling 4.55 million in total on home consoles. The portable versions on the GBA and Nintendo DS are reported to have sold a combined 1.03 million copies, bringing the total to 5.58 million.
8 Lego Star Wars: The Video Game (6.70 Million)
Lego Star Wars: The Video Game sold 6.70 million copies. A Lego-themed action-adventure game, this release served as the first installment in what would eventually become a series with numerous games. The game received an ESRB rating, which means it is intended for everyone but primarily for kids.
The game performed very well commercially and was the tenth best-selling game of 2005, with sales of the Game Boy version reaching 580 000 by the next year in the United States. The PlayStation 2 version was even more popular, selling more than 3 million copies.
7 Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (7.33 Million)
Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is based on the animated movie/series of the same name and is set between the second and third live-action movie. The gameplay is similar to the previous Star Wars Lego games but features improved graphics and some new mechanics.
The critical reception of the game was mediocre, but it sold well. Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars shipped 1.48 million copies for Xbox 360, 1.79 million for Wii, 1.1 million for Nintendo DS, 1.14 million for Nintendo 3DS, 0.39 million for PSP, 0.25 million for PC, and 1.18 million for PlayStation 3. This brings the total to 7.73 million total.
6 Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (8.2 Million)
Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy was published in 2006 for numerous platforms, including Game Boy Advance, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox 360. The game’s plot is based around the three original Star Wars movies and there 68 characters from the movies available to play as.
The game sold over a million copies in the first week, and 3.3 million by the end of the same year. Thanks to its ESRB rating and numerous platforms that the game was made available on, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy‘s sales totaled approximately 8.2 million.
5 Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (9.41 Million)
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed acts as an origin story for the rebel alliance and Galactic Civil War, and follows Darth Vader’s apprentice Starkiller who is hunting down Jedi survivors.
The game managed to sell 6 million copies in a year after its release and was the fastest-selling Star Wars video game of its time. Worldwide sales totaled approximately 9.41 million copies; by platform, The Force Unleashed shipped 1.86 million for Wii, 2.77 million for Xbox 360, 1.25 million for PlayStation 2, 2.22 million for PlayStation 3, 0.22 million for the DS, and 1.09 for PSP. A sequel was released two years later and an updated version called Ultimate Sith Edition was also published for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
4 Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order (10 Million)
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is a relatively new game, published in 2019. It follows Cal Kestis, a Jedi who is hunted throughout the galaxy by the Galactic Empire. The game is played from the third-person perspective and gameplay is largely inspired by Batman: Arkham Asylum.
EA confirmed that the game had the fastest digital sales launch of any Star Wars game, with sales being particularly strong in the United Kingdom. The game also moved big numbers in physical copies. It sold more than 10 million copies by 2020, largely exceeding EAs expectations.
3 Star Wars Battlefront II (10.53 Million)
Star Wars Battlefront II is the sequel to the 2015 reboot of the Battlefront series. It received average reviews and was met with “loot controversy” which affected its sales.
The game was the second best-selling release in the United States behind Call of Duty: WWII, while in Japan sales of the PlayStation 4 version were strong. By the end of the year, Star Wars Battlefront II sold 9 million copies, although that has naturally increased since then. The game has shipped around 10.53 million copies.
2 Star Wars Battlefront (14 Million)
Star Wars Battlefront is a reboot of the original game published in 2005 and can be played either from a first or third-person perspective. In the game, the player is able to control the most popular characters from the Star Wars universe such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Han Solo, while also visiting planets seen in films like Tatooine, Hoth, Endor, and Sullust.
Despite receiving average reviews, Star Wars Battlefront managed to sell 14 million copies. The game was the fastest-selling Star Wars game upon release, breaking the record set by Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
1 Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (15.33 Million)
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is a compilation of previous Star Wars Lego games and the plot of the game is based on all six previous films. It features both single-player and multiplayer modes. The game received positive reviews and holds a rating of 80 on Metacritic.
The sales of the game were high across all platforms, with 2.31 million for PlayStation 3, 4.77 for Nintendo DS, 2.59 million for Xbox 360, 5.66 million for Nintendo Wii, all of which totaled to 15.33 million.
