The new Season of Fortnite has some strange stuff in it. There are Fortnite characters to talk to for various reasons scattered around the map, not to mention a new map and new objectives.
And, of course, there’s the Mandalorian. Making a cameo as a character and as a skin, the Mandalorian is in many ways the centerpiece of this part of Fortnite‘s life. While unlocking the regular Mandalorian skin is easy, the Beskar Mandalorian skin is a longer journey. It’s a multi-part quest with a lot to do, so here’s a guide to walk you through each step.
The quest to unlock the Beskar Mandalorian skin is given in stages, and each stage only unlocks once players have reached a certain level in the Battle Pass. Level one gives the first level, with the others interspersed at odd intervals afterwards, and the last one given at level 100. Each quest unlocks one part of the Beskar armor, and putting it all together makes the skin.Step 2: Find the Razor Crest
The first quest has players finding the Razor Crest, the Mandalorian’s ship. It’s crashed east of the map’s center, stuck in a sand drift near a river. Just getting to it is enough to finish the quest.
To do this, a player must deal a certain amount of damage to a single other player with a weapon. Passing the damage threshold (which requires precision and a good weapon) will earn weapon accolade with the weapon, completing the quest.
Gold Bars are the new in-match currency introduced with Season 5. They can be gathered in various ways, including completing bounties. Completing bounties is an important part of the quest later, so it’s best to familiarize oneself with doing so early on.
To find the Beskar Steel in the Shark’s Belly, players must journey to Shark Island, just north of Coral Castle. Head into the island’s interior and look for an open vault door. The Beskar Steel, a cube of dull metal, is on a shelf inside.
Ruckus is a sort of mini-boss NPC on the map. He’s west of Slurpy Swamp, shacked up at a structure east of the lake just north of Misty Meadows. Be careful, he’s pretty tough, both in taking shots and firing them.
Finding Beskar Steel “where Earth meets Sky” means finding it at the highest point on the map. This is the summit of Mt. Kay. It can be reached with a glider after dropping, and is easily seen thanks to the red flag planted there. The Beskar Steel is lying in the snow, again as a dull rectangle.
This one is pretty amorphous. Legendary quests change each week, so depending on when this particular quest is tackled, players could be asked to do almost anything. Keep an open mind and be flexible.
Here’s where bounties are important. To complete a Fortnite bounty, a player must receive one from an NPC like Mancake. They are given a player to hunt down, identified by name and skin. Find the player and take them out to complete the bounty, and the final quest.
Fortnite is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
