The World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion is here for brave adventurers, and with it comes an interesting new system called Runecarving. This function allows players to craft their own legendary items and powers from a pool of strong and useful abilities. The Warrior class benefits from several of these legendary powers in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, and each specialization favors a few that the others don’t.
Runecarving in Shadowlands is unlocked once players reach the new max level of 60. Once at max level, players must progress through Torghast, the Diablo-style randomly generated dungeon. Players can craft their own legendary items at the Runecarver and then unlock different Memory of the Runecarver recipes in order to customize the abilities of those items. These recipes can be unlocked from different things such as reputation or raids.
First up for the Warrior class is the Arms spec. Arms Warriors benefit most from the Signet of Tormented Kings, which is a legendary ring or wrist item. This legendary item causes Bladestorm, Recklessness, or Avatar to randomly cast one of the other two abilities when used. The Signet is useful for Arms Warriors who want to add value to multitarget encounters, albeit at the cost of some randomness.
The Fury Warrior is a strong DPS spec in Shadowlands. The class can be further improved by working toward unlocking the Deathmaker legendary legs or back. This item grants Rampage a 30% chance to apply the Siegebreaker effect to enemies. Deathmaker is useful because it gives the player a nice upgrade while not requiring any special mechanics to manage.
One of the best tanks in Shadowlands is Protection Warrior. Although it doesn’t seem to need any extra help, there are some legendaries that can allow the spec to excel even more. One of these notable legendaries is The Wall, which can be slotted into either shoulders or back. This legendary item causes Shield Slam to generate 5 additional Rage in addition to reducing the cooldown of Shield Wall by 5 seconds. The other recommended legendary for Protection is Thunderlord, which can be used in either the feet or hands slots. This item causes Demoralizing Shout’s cooldown to be reduced each time Thunder Clap hits an enemy. Thunderlord requires more planning than when using The Wall, so the preference between these two lies with the player. Either one can help them tank throughout Shadowlands.
The Shadowlands expansion is still pretty new, so there is plenty of room for players to discover interesting and powerful combos. These are the legendaries that a player can grab and use for most of the expansion, so it definitely doesn’t hurt to go ahead and unlock whatever possible. With this brand new expansion only just beginning, there are many months ahead for things to shake up for players.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is available now on PC.
