Fans of the Zombies franchise have been diving deep into Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s version of the classic game mode. Many fans have enjoyed the new features throughout the experience, but one problem continues to plague the Zombies community. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s Zombies is a faithful reincarnation of the franchise, but players have serious trouble connecting to the game and lasting more than a few rounds.
Reports of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies mode problems continue to appear in the game’s Reddit feed. While most players demand that the developers fix the problem, one fan took a different look at the situation. After five days of trial and error, this Reddit fan has some hard data to bring to the Zombies discussion.
Over the course of five days, Reddit user erikasnoske has been documenting the results of their Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies games. For the convenience of the game’s Reddit community, they have placed the information into a graph showing exactly what happened during each game. By the look of the numbers, the player played three to four matches a day for a total of 17 games. Of those 17 separate experiences, 11 of them ended with the game crashing in one way or another, with effects from simply losing connection to the game booting players to the menu with no explanation.
In the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies game mode, there are several ways for the game to end. While the new version includes the optional Exfil, most Zombies matches are expected to end with death or simply quitting the match. For 11 out of 17 games to end due to in-game errors makes playing in Zombies a rather frustrating experience.
In the comments, the Reddit post author clarifies that this only includes public matches hosted on the system’s servers. It is unclear what round the player gets to, but recently a streamer attempting the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies record received a crash error found on this report.
Most fans agree that the crashes do not seem to be round based but rather time-based. Some players of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies claim that in private matches, the servers are just as bad, but all fans agree that the stability of the multiplayer Zombies experience needs a serious patch.
