Dragalia Lost Datamine Points to Future Persona 5 Crossover

The action role-playing game Draglia Lost continues to be a popular mobile title that is no stranger to crossovers. From Mega Man to Monster Hunter, the world of Dragalia Lost has brought in plenty of interesting characters from other worlds, seamlessly integrating them into the narrative. According to a recent datamine, it appears that the Phantom Thieves will soon be joining the roster as well.

The mobile title had one of its latest updates datamined this week, and after picking through the files, Persona 5 Strikers characters were found. The lineup includes Joker, Morgana, Panther, Sofia, and Arsene. Once the characters are added into Dragalia Lost, one of Nintendo’s biggest mobile games, they’ll be split between playable heroes and dragons — a role in which Arsene will fit nicely. Fans of the game are expecting an official announcement in an upcoming Dragalia Digest, which airs on the official Nintendo Mobile YouTube channel and provides information on future content.

As for when the crossover will happen, many speculate it will occur sometime in February to line up with the release of Persona 5 Strikers in the West. The major link to the Dynasty Warriors-style sequel and not the original, Persona 5, is the character Sofia, who is one of the new characters introduced in Strikers. This means fans will have to wait just a couple more months before the Phantom Thieves arrive in-game. Until then, they can start taking guesses at the weapons and attributes of each character.

Both Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal are PlayStation exclusives, but the upcoming sequel may change that. Persona 5 Strikers won’t only be coming to the PlayStation and Switch but also PC — marking a deviation from its initial release in Japan. Its availability on Steam leads many to believe this indicates Persona 5 may be ported to PC as well. After all, Persona 4 made it to the platform, and it’s often been questioned why the sequel did not.

In fact, the series’ popularity on PC definitely makes a good case for this to happen. Persona 4 Golden, which was relegated to the PlayStation Vita for eight years, was finally released on Steam in June of 2020. This proved to be a huge success and Persona 4 Golden hit its first big milestone early on. While it makes business sense to release Persona 5 in the same way as its predecessor, there hasn’t been an official announcement on the matter yet.

The upcoming crossover in Dragalia Lost may bring back players who dropped the game at some point after its 2018 release, but it is worth picking up again. From revamps to combat, rewards, and even its aesthetics, it’s a very different game. It recently changed its graphics to a more cel-shaded appearance, which tends to fit the anime look better. It continues to be a fun game that’s very generous to its players.
