PlayStation 5 Trailer Highlights Its New and Upcoming Games

Hot on the heels of the PlayStation 5 launch, Sony releases a trailer focusing on its new and upcoming games. While there are no shocking reveals, the trailer showcases an eclectic collection of games coming to PlayStation 5.

The trailer is full of clips focusing on games primarily exclusive to the new console, but also includes cross-platform experiences. Most of the video is confirming big PS5 exclusive games set to release in 2021. That said, players can also check out what is available now for the console.

Those unsure about the future lineup for PlayStation 5 should be assured by the content of this trailer. For titles Sony is publishing, the video shows off Horizon: Forbidden West and its new regions, Gran Turismo 7, Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Destruction AllStars. Third-party titles strewn throughout include Deathloop, Project Athia, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Village: Resident Evil. With a collection of first-person shooters, open-world action games, and platformers, there is plenty for players to look forward to.

However, there is also a variety of PlayStation 5 launch games available now. Highlights from Sony include Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure. For multiplayer fans, the trailer promotes other major releases like Godfall, NBA 2K21, and Call of Duty: Blacks Ops Cold War.

The release of PlayStation 5 was met with resoundingly positive reviews, though it has also seen some bad publicity like UK gangs stealing from delivery trucks to get their hands on the elusive console. This is not surprising given the upcoming lineup solidified by this recent trailer. Games like Horizon: Forbidden West or Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart are highly-anticipated sequels for some of Sony’s most successful intellectual properties.

What makes PlayStation 5 even more tempting is the inclusion of exciting third-party titles, like Deathloop and Village: Resident Evil. Some console launches fall short due to a lack of games, both first and third party, but fortunately for Sony the PlayStation 5 does not look to have this problem.

One issue that could remain is whether these upcoming games stick to their release dates. From the trailer itself, many of the titles have a vague 2021 launch. Without a hard date set, players may be skeptical of PlayStation 5 games actually coming to fruition anytime soon. It would not be the first time that popular AAA games see delays before players could get ahold of them. Even with any release snags, the success of PlayStation 5 should lead to good tidings for the new console.
