There are several ways to earn Anima Powers in World of Warcraft‘s Torghast, Tower of the Damned, one of which is to open the locked chests that are found inside of it. In order to gain access to the contents of one particular variety of Torghast chest, players will need to solve a puzzle revolving around four levers. For those fans that may be having some trouble finding the solution to these lever locked chests in the Shadowlands expansion, this guide is here to help.
To put things simply, each of the levers connected to these Torghast chests can be put into two positions (up or down), and the cache will unlock when all four levers are in the correct one. However, there is nothing in-game that indicates if a lever is in the right position, and thus players must try the various combinations until they land on one that works. Here is a list of the 16 possible combinations for the lever locked chests in World of Warcraft, with “U” indicating the up position and “D” indicating the down position.

Indeed, fans that hope to open a lever locked chest in Torghast will need to work their way through this list systematically, trying all of the combinations until one is successful. While this may feel slightly tedious to some WoW players, the process should not take too long to complete, and the disappearance of the chest’s chain will signal that it is done. When that occurs, fans are free to loot the chest and continue their ascents up the Tower of the Damned.
For those players that are interested, the other variety of Torghast chest that was previously alluded to is opened by solving a different type of puzzle altogether. These puzzles center around four runes, and indeed it is a fan’s job to get them all to the correct color. Unlike the caches detailed in this guide, though, the rune locked chests in Torgahst can be solved without needing to brute force a combination, making them generally more pleasant to open.
That said, players can opt to simply ignore the puzzle chests in Torghast if they do not want to put the time into opening them. At least at the lower layers, skipping a single Anima Power is not likely to impact a run in a significant way. If a fan is playing a WoW class that struggles in the tower, though, they should certainly not miss out on the opportunities to gain an additional edge from these chests.
World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
