World of Warcraft: Shadowlands – The Great Vault Location

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands players are finally exploring the Great Vault feature of the new expansion. The Great Vault provides players with free loot every week as long as they meet certain conditions. While the Great Vault’s location is given to players during their introduction to the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion, how to access it and what it contains needs some more explanation.

In basic terms, the Great Vault contains treasure for players. While this treasure is not the same as other hidden Shadowlands treasures, to some players it is even more important. The Great Vault can contain up to nine pieces of gear for players to loot, but there is a catch to this. Players can only loot one item per week, so they must choose carefully.

The Great Vault is located in the main hub of Shadowlands, Oribos. Players see it during their initial tour through the surrounding hallways and chambers. The Great Vault is specifically located inside the Ring of Fates section in the Hall of Shapes. The Great Vault’s coordinates are 65.0, 29.3 for any players who struggle to locate it.

Gear awaits any player who completes certain tasks during the week. There are nine different checkmarks that a player can get and each one adds another item to the hoard. Once the week resets on Tuesday, players can open this special Shadowlands vault and pick one of these nine items to keep. The tasks themselves are a combination of three raid objectives, three Mythic+ objectives, and three PVP objectives. If players don’t want any of the items available, then can instead take Brimming Anima Orbs that can be deposited into their Covenant’s reservoir.

The three raid objectives add loot to the Great Vault when players defeat three, then seven, then ten raid bosses. The loot tier correlates with the difficulty of the raid that the player completes. The Mythic+ dungeon objectives add loot for completing 1, then four, then ten Mythic dungeons. Finally, the PVP loot is added as players earn 1,250 honor points, 2,500 honor points, and then 6,250 honor points from rated PVP.

This mechanic replaces the Bonus Rolls that the previous two expansions had, where players could purchase two or three coins every week and get an extra roll for loot from bosses. Now, players get up to nine bonus rolls for free with the ability to choose which one they want to keep. This also helps eliminate the chance that they get nothing, which is a scenario that sometimes happened with Bonus Rolls. Players have only started experimenting with the Great Vault in the new expansion, so there is no telling what the best possible items to loot are. With that in mind, this is another thing players need to add to their weekly Shadowlands checklist, especially as they try to increase their ilevel for tougher content.
