Throughout the Assassin’s Creed games, there are plenty of outfits that were designed for the protagonists, each of which helped to not only represent the era that it came from, but it also helped establish the character’s journey. Ezio, for example, had three games total and had multiple armors and outfits based around him. These armors in particular helped to either elevate or hinder the base character designs of the games.
As such, here is every armor from the games ranked from the Ezio trilogy. These outfits will be judged mostly on aesthetics and design, as only a few have unique attributes.
17 Leather Armor
The original weakest armor in Assassin’s Creed 2 is also one of the most uninteresting sets in the entire trilogy. Fitting the name of Leather, aesthetically it is everything that players would expect of a leather armor set.
The full brown set is incredibly bland due to its lack of textural elements. As a result it just kind of sits there with the rest of the armor. Although it does its job during the early parts of the game, it becomes rather irrelevant as much more powerful sets roll around.
16 Metal Armor
Contrasting the Leather armor is the third strongest set in all of Assassin’s Creed 2. However, the armor set still falls under the same trappings of the Leather armor in the fact that it looks fairly plain. Although unlike the leather set, the Metal armor is able to comfortably mesh nicely with the white assassin’s outfit. If the player dyes the outfit, the armor is able to stand out more. However, outside of that, it’s the plain design still makes it far behind the other sets.
15 Azap Armor
The Azap armor is the leather set for Assassin’s Creed Revelations. In terms of aesthetics, there are plenty of elements that make it decent to look at like the little details on the greaves and the chest plate. Not only that but it also fits well with the darker robes that Ezio wears in his later days. However, this is also a double edge sword as it blends too well with the outfit. The result kind of makes it does not stand out nearly as much as other armors.
14 Roman Armor
The Roman armor is the leather set within Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Similar to the leather armor in Assassin’s Creed 2, it doesn’t mesh fully well with the robes of Brotherhood but they do have a decent design to it, unlike the leather. It also doesn’t blend in like Azap so it is overall a little better overall. However, that being said, the armors that come in afterwards in the game is far more interesting looking.
13 Rondelle Armor
The Rondelle armor is very similar to the Roman armor. Almost to the point of having the exact design. The only difference is that it has some metal lining within the details of the suit. However, in spite of this, this really holds back the armor in a way that’s not good. As it doesn’t have enough to really change anything other than the sheen from a glance. As a result, it is only slightly better than the roman armor.
12 Helmschmied Armor
The Helmschmied armor is the second set of Assassin’s Creed 2. Although it is quite similar to the leather armor, the Helmschmied armor stands out thanks to the metal detailing. These details is similar to how it’s handled with the Rondelle armor. However, unlike that armor, it is able to stand out in a way that isn’t subtle. Truly making it stand out more on its own, which is worth having in Assassin’s Creed.
11 Sepahi Armor
The Sephahi armor is one of the stronger sets of Assassin’s Creed Revelations. Looking very similar to the mamluk armor which will be discussed later, it is a golden-colored armor that provides Ezio with decent amounts of protection. From a design standpoint, it is able to mesh fairly well with the darker robes. However, that being said, it doesn’t mesh out or complement the armors as well as certain armors that came before or after it.
10 Mamluk Armor
The Mamluk Armor is the second set that Ezio can get in Assassin’s Creed Revelations. Unlike the later set, the Sepahi Armor, the armor still maintains the colors of the Azap set. Thus it is able to mesh together very well with Ezio’s robes. Not only that but the cape and detailing are also very good elements to the set. The only real issue is that the suit is fairly bulky as it doesn’t form the body as much as armors from Assassin’s Creed 2 or Brotherhood.
9 Master Assassin Armor
The Master Assassin armor is one of the unique armor sets in all of Assassin’s Creed Revelations. It is obtained when the player finishes assigning seven assassins to different assassin dens and completing the first set of Master Assassin missions.
It also offers unique bonuses such as silent sprinting and being unbreakable. It is also genuinely interesting looking. Although the only downside is that it is fairly undyeable. It is also one of the least unique-looking out of the other unbreakable armors.
8 Armor Of Brutus
The armor of Brutus is the strongest armor available in all of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Originally worn by Brutus, one of the many assassins responsible for killing Julius Caesar, it is easily one of the most powerful-looking armors in the franchise. The strong red and fur elements really help make it stand out compared to other armors. However, it is also one of the bulkiest and doesn’t really highlight what an Assassin should look like.
7 Plate Armor
Plate armor is one of the stronger sets of armor that Ezio can wear over the course of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. It’s an incredibly good set of armor thanks to the more minimalist elements of the armor. Not only that but it is also paired wonderfully with the white robes that the character wears. Looking decent with any other dye also works. However, what holds it back is the armor values as well as other armors looking better than it.
6 Missaglias Armor
The Missaglias armor is the second-strongest set in the entire game. Only being beaten by the armor of Altair. This armor is a really good set thanks to the designs on the plate armor. Which blends wonderfully with the robes of Ezio during that time. Not only that, but the armor set was popular enough to be used in the Assassin’s Creed 2 statues and figurines. Overall the Missaglias armor is definitely one of the more recognizable sets.
5 Turkish Assassin Armor
The Turkish Assassin armor is one of the few sets in the trilogy where it is strictly an outfit or skin. Aesthetically it is quite interesting with a decent white robe which pairs well with the brown armor used. Not only that but it is one of the only armors that has a mask. The downside to this armor however is that due to aesthetic nature, players aren’t able to customize to whatever they see fit.
4 Seusenhofer Armor
The Seusenhofer armor is the second strongest set in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. During the cutscenes, this is also canonically what Ezio wears by the time he faces Cesare Borgia in Spain. Combining the best elements from the plate armor with the Missaglias armor, the end result is something that is quite strong to look at. It also blends really well with Ezio’s robes.
3 Armor Of Ishak Pasha
The armor of Ishak Pasha is the unbreakable set similar to the armor of Altair and Brutus. Worn by the covert Ottoman assassin of the same name, it offers similar bonuses to the other armors mentioned earlier. However, it also has a chance of scaring guards away. Not only that, but the aesthetic of the armor is unique thanks to its gold and black armor. Not to mention the mask that comes with it.
2 Helmschmied Drachen Armor
The Helmschmied Drachen armor is one of the other outfit sets available in the Ezio trilogy. According to the lore, it is crafted by the Helmschmied Armory in 1489 and was easily one of the finest created.
Aesthetically it is easily one of the most pleasing to look at. With black robes and red accents, it is smoothly combined with a set of white armor that is well-designed. The only problem with the armor is that because it’s an outfit, it is virtually uncustomizable.
1 Armor Of Altair
The armor of Altair is the original unbreakable set in the Ezio trilogy and the one that holds a lot of important lore. Originally created by Altair thanks to the apple of Eden, he was able to create something that was extremely light while also having incredibly good protection.
Ezio eventually wore this during the latter end of the Assassin’s Creed 2 with it being revealed that he wore it during his fight against Rodrigo Borgia. The armor is really well-made with strong blacks, golds and reds. With the armor overall being considered one of the most recognizable sets in the game.
