Call of Duty: Warzone players are encountering one of the most frustrating exploits yet, as cheaters are making themselves fully invisible in games of the battle royale. With the invisible Call of Duty: Warzone players able to do normal amounts of damage, wins are all-but-guaranteed for those using the exploit.
The invisibility glitch is the latest game-breaking bug in Call of Duty: Warzone, joining previous glitches that made players invulnerable to damage or let players use stims infinitely. Players using the glitch are entirely invisible to those around them, and they can use this cloaking to mess with enemies or obtain cheap victories in their games. With the glitch becoming increasingly widespread, multiple Call of Duty streamers and YouTubers have posted clips of their invisible foes in action.
Muddawg, a professional Call of Duty player and streamer, posted a video to Twitter of the invisible player taking out an entire squad with melee executions. The streamer jokes that “Verdansk is haunted” in the tweet, and admittedly, it is funny to see the cheater messing with his victims. Dropping piles of money on the ground and shooting the bags of cash, the confused players set themselves up for the “ghost” to kill them one by one. While this instance is funny, most situations where the bug appears will be far more annoying.
The exploit is caused by players using Call of Duty: Warzone’s new attack helicopter, with players needing to do a few specific steps while firing the minigun of the vehicle. With the exploit being particularly unfair, however, the steps are better left unexplained. Sadly, if cheaters have activated the invisibility bug, other players seem to have no option available to stop them. Invisible players take no damage from gunfire, and only the storm or vehicles can end their reign of terror.
Call of Duty: Warzone players have been spreading clips of the exploit like wildfire, with numerous streamers and Redditors like Dixxowt highlighting examples of the problem. As such, hopefully Infinity Ward is already hard at work on a fix, as this latest issue is truly awful. With a recon glitch in Call of Duty: Warzone also allowing players to see the final circle, combining the two exploits could make for an even more toxic gameplay experience.
The timing of this latest glitch could not be worse, as it has killed the excitement for some players regarding Rebirth Island’s arrival in Call of Duty: Warzone. Hopefully, the bug does not spread to that map as well, as Verdansk’s “ghost” problem is more than enough to cope with for fans of the popular battle royale.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
