Beginning earlier this week, Ubisoft introduced its “Happy Holidays” event, offering players daily free gifts when they accessed the company’s website. Thus far, the offerings have ranged from DLCs to a full game, with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players getting the Bayek legacy outfit earlier this week and the game Starlink: Battle for Atlas being available for free on the Ubisoft Connect store.
Today, players will be able to acquire a second free title, with Ubisoft announcing over Twitter that it will be giving away free PC codes for Trials Rising. Those wanting to claim the Ubisoft Connect version of the game can do so by heading over to the Happy Holidays event page and redeeming their copy before the day ends.
For those who never played Trials Rising when it released last year, the sequel was a continuation of the addictive 2.5D bike-racing series that first started back in 2000. As expected for a Trials game, the most recent iteration of the franchise came with a ton of new tracks, customization options, and more, combining a host of fresh elements with previous game’s infinitely replayable formula to create the most in-depth take on the series yet. At release, it managed to bag a respectable 79 on Metacritic, with reviewers praising the game’s fun racing but criticizing its microtransactions and frustrating progression systems.
For those who want to give the game a go, they have 24 hours to go ahead and grab themselves Trials Rising absolutely free on the Ubisoft website. As has been the case for each Happy Holidays drop over the past few days, the offer will stick around until 8 AM ET tomorrow, at which time it will be cycled out for a new gift. Tomorrow’s free item will be the final offering from the company’s Happy Holidays event, so it’ll be interesting to see what Ubisoft puts up for grabs to close out its lineup of Christmas goodies.
For those disappointed that Ubisoft’s sack of gifts will be closing tomorrow, The Epic Games Store will be holding a similar event starting later today, bringing 15 days of free games to its playerbase. The company held a similar event last holiday season, offering the likes of Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Layer and Into the Breach. It’ll be interesting to see what games the service offers in the coming days, with Epic Games having given away some pretty lucrative titles for free over the last year. In the meantime, players wanting to grab their copy of Trials Rising should ensure they head over to the Ubisoft website before tomorrow morning.
Trials Rising is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch
