Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s Eivor may not celebrate Christmas, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have their own festivities to take part in. The Yule Festival is here, and in Ravensthorpe that means partaking in a series of competitions to earn Yule Tokens. This special currency can be traded for unique weapons and armor, as well as cosmetic schemes for tattoos and settlement decorations.
All total, players will need 775 Yule Tokens in order to buy everything new that’s come to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with the Yule Festival. With such a lofty goal ahead, players will need to do a bit of farming if they want to get everything before the event ends in January.
There are five main ways players can get Yule Tokens: the drinking contest, brawling ring, archery contest, and the two new seasonal quests. Players should try out all of these events at least once, but afterwards there are some that are much faster at earning tokens than others and should be focused on.
The first step to farming tokens is to do both seasonal quests. These require that the player has built the grain farm and the cattle farm in Ravensthorpe, and will see Eivor go on a short excursion with some citizens of Ravensthorpe. Each of these quests rewards the player with 140 Yule Tokens, meaning after doing both players will already have almost enough to buy either the dagger and shield or the whole armor set. Keep in mind that these quests are a bit buggy, so if the quest marker is taking Eivor really far away during “The Case of the Missing Ale,” don’t always trust it.
Between the other three methods of gaining Yule Tokens, the archery competition is easily the fastest. The drinking contest doesn’t take terribly long but only awards the player with 10 Yule Tokens, and though players can get up to 70 Yule Tokens from winning all ten rounds of in the brawling contest, it takes a long time and can be difficult to do. Instead, players should repeat the archery game, and as long as they score 1200 points or more they will get 40 tokens per game.
If players can reliably score 1200 points in a round, they should be able to buy everything after repeating this 10 or 11 times. If it gets monotonous, break up the grind a bit by enjoying some of the other events in the area or doing some non-Yuletide activities. The event will stick around until January 7th, so there’s no need to do it all in one sitting.
