Cyberpunk 2077 is all about ridiculous customization. Players can hack from their hands, pull swords out of their arms, and even charge jump high into the air. These upgrades are all different parts of cyberware, and require the player to find and equip them in different parts of their body. While some of the upgrades in Cyberpunk 2077 are underwhelming, some can completely change the game.
For the most part, cyberware is purchased from different ripperdocs around Night City. Players need to be on the lookout for many of these powerful upgrades, but there are five in particular that can be useful no matter the playstyle. These five are Second Heart, Reinforced Tendons, Syn-Lungs, Gorilla Arms, and Kerenzikov.
The Second Heart is one of the most popular pieces of cyberware in the game. This item restores players to 100% Health after dropping to 0 Health. The catch is that there is a cooldown of 2 minutes which prevents it from making the player immortal. Second Heart can be purchased for 42,000 eurodollars from a ripperdoc on the western edge of Heywood. This upgrade has a requirement of 16 Body in order to equip, so players should plan accordingly.
This leg upgrade can be purchased from multiple ripperdocs across Night City for 45,000 eurodollars. Equipping this allows the player to double jump by pressing jump again while in the air. While some players seem to prefer the Fortified Ankles that let them charge jump, it seems the community overall favors the double jump ability. Having more control over the jump means players can jump to harder to reach areas or better dodge enemy projectiles.
This circulatory upgrade grants the player increased stamina regeneration. Cyberpunk 2077 melee players should seek out this upgrade in order to keep the punches rolling. Syn-Lungs can be found at the ripperdoc in western Heywood alongside the Second Heart upgrade. Between a second health bar and faster stamina regeneration, these two can combine into a powerful punching machine.
Players can outfit themselves with tree trunk biceps by visiting the same Doc Ryder in Heywood that sells both Second Heart and Syn-Lungs. These arms let the player charge up punches, force open doors, and pull turrets off their posts. Players need to have at least 45 Street Cred to purchase Gorilla Arms, and the upgrade costs a whopping 100,250 eurodollars.
The last notable cyberware upgrade is more situational, but still useful for most builds. The legendary Kerenzikov slows down time by 90% for 3.5 seconds and is sold by the ripperdoc in Santo Domingo for 35,000 eurodollars. The slow time feature will automatically activate whenever the player blocks, aims, or attacks during a slide or dodge. In addition, the Kerenzikov allows the player to aim and shoot while dodging. Players should note that they will need at least 18 in Reflexes in order to equip this piece.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. It will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021.
