Cyberpunk 2077 is finally available after many years, and while the launch isn’t exactly what CD Projekt Red wanted, many are still devoted to seeing the game to its end. As such, it’s important to know how many endings are possible and how to unlock them, especially for those trying to get all of the Cyberpunk 2077 achievements.
It should be noted that while spoilers are avoided as much as possible, much of this article may contain minor spoilers for Cyberpunk 2077 that could impact how one receives the ending. Luckily, most of these are not missable, and even after completing the game once, players can load back in and complete the rest.
In short, there are 6 endings to the game. There’s the straightforward main ending, two more basic endings that have certain requirements (one of these itself has another ending), a bonus short ending that has no requirements, and then the secret ending. Each of the basic Cyberpunk 2077 endings have achievements related to them, but for those who miss out on the others, there’s nothing really missed outside of the “completion” of it.
Essentially, players “choose” their ending during the Nocturne Op55N1 mission in a discussion with Johnny Silverhand. Afterward, there’s a few missions to complete before reaching the conclusion, but at that point, players are locked into whichever choice they make.
For the three basic endings, players will need to make certain choices in the above conversation, as well as having certain questlines done.
Think trusting Arasaka’s risky but worth it – This is the default ending which has no requirements to unlock.
Gonna ask Panam for help – This option is only available for those who complete Panam’s entire side quest (the same set of quests required to romance Panam in Cyberpunk 2o77). After selecting this option, it bridges out to two more possible endings based on this choice:
- Choosing “Wanna live our whatever life I got left” or “Body’s Johnny’s. I’ll go” during the Alt Cunningham choice results in two separate endings.
Think you and Rogue should go – This option is only availably by completing Johnny and Rogue’s questline, starting with Tapeworm and ending in Blistering Love. Finding Johnny Silverhand’s items overlap some here, and finding them all is helpful but not required.
A series of choices in the aforementioned dialogue with Johnny Silverhand can result in a bonus ending, one that doesn’t really end much and is more of a choice akin to the secret endings to Far Cry 4 and Far Cry 5. Players will need to select any of the above choices to lock in the ending, which then has to be confirmed to Johnny. Instead of confirming it, players can choose could also just put all this to rest. Doing so and following through immediately brings Cyberpunk 2077 to an end.
The secret ending requires players to make certain choices and have a certain relationship with Johnny Silverhand. When players choose “think you and Rogue should go,” there are a few follow-up choices to confirm. However, instead of doing so, players should wait on this screen for approximately 5 or so minutes. This unlocks the secret ending called Don’t Fear the Reaper.
Exact requirements for this ending are still a little hard to determine, but basically, players want the relationship percentage with Johnny Silverhand above 70%. This can be seen in the pause menu as the middle icon. Furthermore, players must complete all of the Johnny Silverhand and Rogue sidequests, including finding his items and making the “better” choices during the Chippin’ In sidequest. Making certain choices there reportedly unlocks the ending itself, but this is of some debate in the Cyberpunk 2077 community. Regardless, for those pursuing this ending, getting that relationship bar up high and completing the aforementioned quests should be a focus in order to unlock this quest.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
