Cyberpunk 2077: Should You Take Skippy to Regina Jones

Cyberpunk 2077 is filled to the brim with deadly weapons that players can use to take down their enemies, but not many hold up to the powerhouse that is Skippy. This handgun may not have the same destructive force as other weapons like V’s missile launcher arms, but it makes up for that by auto aiming for the head of the target.

Of course, Cyberpunk 2077 players have probably had a sort of love/hate relationship with Skippy. On the one hand, the talking pistol can be charming, but it can also be rather annoying. Perhaps more importantly, some players are locked into the Puppy-loving Pacifist mode, while others are still rocking Stone Cold Killer.

For those that don’t know, when V first comes across the gun, Skippy gives the player a choice between those two modes of fire. Pupply-loving Pacifist will only shoot enemies in the leg, whereas Stone Cold Killer will always hit enemies in the head. After 50 kills with the weapon, Skippy will automatically permanently switch modes, locking the weapon in the other selection.

After using Skippy for a while, players will unlock a quest to bring him back to his previous owner, Regina Jones. Completing this quest is simple, as players simply need to follow the quest marker and hand over the pistol, but it has some consequences. For one, players will lose Skippy, and they’ll never be able to use or acquire him or another pistol like him again. That said, there is a reward, so it isn’t a complete loss.

Turning in Skippy causes Regina Jones to give the player 7,420 Eurodollars, but in the process she will factory reset the pistol and give it a new name. This prompts V to freak out a little, concerned that she just “killed Skippy.” If players have Skippy in Stone Cold Killer mode permanently, he is definitely worth keeping, especially if the player has been enjoying using it. For those that have Skippy stuck in Puppy-loving Pacifist, it may be better to just return it to Regina since it isn’t going to be as powerful as some other weapons.

Players that decide to keep Skippy despite his protests may have to deal with the gun calling V a “bad owner” over and over again, but at least they’ll get to keep this iconic Cyberpunk 2077 weapon instead. It also should be said that players can choose to tell Skippy that they will return him and accept the quest but never go and do it.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, and later on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
