The Witcher has set out on the very specific purpose of cheering up its fans this Christmas with some very lighthearted takes on the show’s characters and world, despite the Continent’s generally dark vibes. In the past few days their Witchmas event has shared tons of outtakes and images from the show as a follow up to their first holiday promo from last month.
After teasing some pictures from season two involving props and everyone’s favorite bard, their monstrous compilation of all of the beasts featured in season one was then followed by a blooper reel with tons of funny moments capable of even getting a smile out of Geralt, specifically the one involving his trusted stallion, Roach.
Despite not being human at all, throughout the show, Roach has consistently remained as the only cast member guaranteed to get some love from Geralt at all times, given the Witcher never really leaves his friend behind, something that the likes of Jaskier and Yennefer certainly can’t brag about. So in their latest poll of “law of surprise” Vs. the guaranteed prize, fans got a charming interview with everyone’s favorite mammal from the continent when they chose surprise.
The video is a treat to watch, or at least as much as a one minute clip of a horse neighing and braying can be, especially because it offers a rare chance to see Roach outside of The Witcher’s gloomy landscapes just living his best horse life. Given the guaranteed prize offered by the Twitter poll was “The Many ‘Hmms’ of Geralt,” fans probably chose the better option by going for a surprise, since Geralt’s grunts have been well documented in the past.
In one of many leaked set photos that have surfaced from The Witcher’s filming locations, Roach had been spotted getting some blood cleaned off him by crew members, which set off some speculation that either Roach or Geralt is likely to be injured during a battle in the upcoming season. Taking that into consideration, it’s definitely better to see Roach show his own holiday spirit backed by some jolly tunes.
With only one day of Witchmas left now, there’s no guessing what The Witcher’s last surprise or reward could be to close out the year. Though unlikely due to the many incidents that have plagued filming since march, a full trailer or at least a teaser would be the best surprise destiny could bring this Christmas.
The Witcher season two is coming to Netflix in 2021.
