Quadra’s Type-66 “Cthulhu” in Cyberpunk 2077 tops out at 185 mph, making it one of the fastest cars in Cyberpunk 2077. With the right steps it can be acquired for free, but even if players missed the opportunity, here’s how V can purchase the Cthulhu as well.
Cyberpunk 2077‘s Night City is rich with lore, but it’s also a home for retro-futuristic car enthusiasts. Driving around Night City is a big part of the game, whether it’s the Beast in Me racing quests or tracking down Delamain’s lost vehicles in the Epistrophy quests. Though players can get a free bike pretty earlier on, or rescue V’s car from a parking garage, at some point, they’ll start to look out for the best of the best to enhance their experience. Or maybe some Cyberpunk 2077 players are looking to collect them all.
There’s a number of sweet rides that V can obtain for free by doing side quests or even just happening upon them during an opportune moment. Most Cyberpunk players will want to look out for these methods because cars don’t come cheap in Night City. Even the fastest cars and trucks in the game can be given to V completely free of charge if they make the right choices, and the same goes for the Type-66 Cthulhu.
The Cthulhu is owned by Sampson, a racer that V will meet during the Beast in Me side quests with Claire. During this quest, after successfully completing the third qualifying race, Claire will reveal that Sampson killed her husband during a race and she wants to get back at him. Luckily, if V plays their cards right, they’ll walk away with not only Sampson’s Cthulhu but Claire will give away her truck for helping her out.
If players only want the Cthulhu, during the final Beast in Me race, they’ll need to stay and finish the race instead of following Sampson when he veers off. Though, this will make Claire very upset. But if players want to appease her and get both racing vehicles, when Claire is talking to V overlooking Night City after the third qualifying race, make sure to tell her “My priority’s winning.” Later on, when V and Claire confront Sampson after he’s crashed, tell Claire to “Let him go.” If the right choices are made, she’ll listen to V and walk away. Both Sampson and Claire will give their rides to V as thanks, but Sampson may take some in-game time before he texts V about it.
If the player didn’t make the right choices and Sampson died, V can also purchase the Cthulhu. They’ll need to wait until a fixer contacts them with the offer, and the car costs a hefty $76,000, so getting one from Sampson is the ideal option. It’s located in Little China in Watson.
